Google plus
I think this means they will also possibly take data from services such as PIcasa which you don't have to have a Google+ account for... just a Google account.

Nofollow link passing link juice
I know this to be false. Further - I've seen them actually improve rankings where no other link building has taken place. They certainly do not pass all value but some certainly.

Robots.txt question
It's a good idea to have an xml site map and make sure the search engines know where it is. It's part of the protocol that they will look in the robots.txt file for the location for your sitemap.

ROR Sitemap
What does a Ruby site map look like? Surely Ruby just runs something like 'gen_url_list' and you can output it in sitemap.xml, no? Ignore that, ROR is an XML format, lol. Eh, no search engines support them as far a I know. Why not test it by submitting one through WMT and seeing if Google accepts it and let us know the results?

Blog question
Out of curiosity, why do you want to do this? Usually you want the blog on the main site in a folder, as this helps get all of the linkjuice pointed at the same domain rather than splitting your efforts into two domains. I'm just wondering the use case here.

Chrome extensions
Links: number of links on the page. Queues: number of links that still need to be checked. (Will gradually decrease to 0) First number in green - number of good (i.e. unbroken) links. Second number in red: number of broken links. Then, you look on the page for all of the links that are highlighted red. Those are your potential broken links. Be careful of 405s though...any links to amazon products come up as red but aren't really broken. Really, 404s and 500s are the ones you want to find.

Drop down menu
Whichever link occurs first in the coding, so if the first occurrence is in the menu, yes - that's the generally held belief - though some have demonstrated ways to get around it (I don't have links, sorry). In general links within body content are given higher value than links elsewhere, so that's why some SEOs have tried to get around this 'first anchor text link rule'. Google (and other search engines, probably) can recognise the difference between menu's, sidebars, footers etc. and main body content - it's something they're getting better at all the time so I wouldn't be surprised if this changed. But then again it could be easier for people to game so perhaps it won't.
