Is possible to submit a XML sitemap to Google without using Google Search Console?
Rosemary, please tell us how well this method works. It's hard, nowadays to rely on free platforms.

What are the Google guidelines on embedding a review summary?
I do not believe that having a summary or even those reviews on the page is against guidelines, they just don't want you using third party reviews (those reviews that were not left on your site specifically) to show schema data that they use in SERPs.

Need to update Google Search Console profile for http to https change. Will a "change of address" option suffice or do we need to create a new GSC profile?
Hi there. As far as I know (99% sure), GSC won't let you do the address change for the same domain name. Also, they recommend having all versions - http and https. So, I'd say just add another version

Client wants to remove mobile URLs from their sitemap to avoid indexing issues. However this will require SEVERAL billing hours. Is having both mobile/desktop URLs in a sitemap really that detrimental to search indexing?
Hey Paul Did you get any response after tweeting Google? Thx.

How does Google Local Insights report impressions for multiple mappack listings (same company) showing up for one query?
Also, although not directly related to your question, this was a really helpful article to get to the bottom of how GMB insight metrics are calculated. http://www.joyannehawkins.com/interpret-google-business-gmb-insights/3/

Question about Unpredictability with the Knowledge panel showing up for the same search
Hi: Thanks for your response. I am not sure that has anything to do with it because both people are searching for the company name. One person, the person sitting in the office where the headquarters is located sees the knowledge panel, while the other person, sitting in another city does not. This happens all the time - where one person sees it and the other person does not - for the same phrase.

Site Footer Links Used for Keyword Spam
Thanks everyone. I sure don't intend to use this tactic because it looks awful on a website and I would hate to have Google decide it was spammy . Rosemary

What is a good "white hat" content distribution network for link building?
John Mueller of Google Search recently shared quite a bit on the topic of links and website ranking factors in a Google Webmasters Hangout. Naturally gaining affirmative incoming links pointing to those blog posts will substantially help. Creating the post is only a first step, I find that marketing the post afterwards takes longer - but also is what really gets the content used. How I understood the conversation with John Mueller about on-page linking. When a link is no followed, Google doesn’t pass link juice. When a link is followed but is no indexed, in this case, Google does pass page rank because they are aware of the page. When a page is no indexed and the link is nofollow, Google essentially sees it similar to a 404 page and skips it will flag to the spiders that this page is now relevant and to re-crawl the page. CONCLUSION: When conducting a link audit, reviewing the link risk and considering factors currently ranking sites, the need for SEOs to understand NoFollow links is still necessary. This goes beyond the scope of the content distribution networks that we've tried. When something is this central to building your domain authority, I agree with Egol that a more hands-on approach has it benefits. Strong social signals also help a lot: each platform is unique from Google+, to Facebook and LinkedIn for lead generation.

Advice on applying Service Area Schema
Hi Rosemary, You are right to be concerned about promoting virtual locations. The only safe thing for them to do is to honestly state their real, physical locations and develop organic content around other cities they serve but lack locations in.

Are ALL CAPS construed as spamming if they are used in a meta description tag call to action?
Hi, I'm using CTA in all caps and many other SEO's also used and not heard any penalty due to this ever. Second meta description is not a ranking factor it is just to increase CTR. **Don't use whole meta description in caps only CTA part in caps e.g FREE DELIVERY OR FREE SHIPPING. Thanks

Need a layman's definition/analogy of the difference between schema and structured data
Hi Rosemary, Dave here. I like to think of it like our addressing system. Because we all use the same system and format for our addresses on an envelope we don't need a code to tell us but as you know ... everyone displays their product information and other data differently on a page. Because of that the engines can have difficulty telling what bit of data is what. Is "blue" the color of the product, the color of the screen or simply used on the page in a "Don't feel blue ... buy XYZ !" Structured data, as Matt well-noted, is just an idea really of matching information with what it means. Like saying "blue" = "product color". Of course, that's all well-and-good but we can all build our own systems and many have been. If we're all using different systems then nothing makes sense so folks got together and created Schema.org simply as a body that could help create a standard. Like saying, "on an envelop you put the name first, then the address, then the city, then the state, then the zip code". If we put things on the envelop differently things would get messy so Schema basically gives us the instruction on how to pass information across. Schema isn't the idea or even the data, it's the instructions on how to tell Google what specific data means. Clear as mud?

Are Social tags beyond Structured Data still required?
When it comes to Google Plus in particular, we do recommend that the authorship and publishership tags be used, as there has been mentions by Google reps in the past that those could come back at some point. We don't know if Google is still using Google Authorship internally as a search engine ranking signal of some type even though it isn't being promoted publicly. The same goes for Google Publishership, as well. If it requires a lot of extra time coding this into the site then you might consider not including it--but we do recommend that it still be included, especially since it may make a comeback at some point.

Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.
Shares on certain social networks don't necessarily have an effect from one social network to another. Google Plus doesn't necessarily have more ranking power--it doesn't work that way. What is more important to Google is the actual rate of engagement and who is sharing/interacting with it. If one post is shared by an influencer and there are a lot of comments, that will have more ranking power than a post that's made and no one shares it. Or lots of non-influencers (spam accounts or fake profiles) share it. Look for actual engagement and shares by influencers, not whether it's shared on one particular social network.
