Hi Rand, I found myself last night explaining to my fiancee (and owner of my business) about why we'd lost some of our precious Moz DA points.  She was disappointed looking at the new metric and I assured her the below and wonder whether you could sort of give a semi official 'what to tell stakeholders' in the event of a loss of DA. This is probably a much bigger issue for agencies than in-house people. Let me assure you _I understand _that DA is a comparative metric and prefer a more accurate picture and prefer to know the real picture. Plus there's all the benefits you outline in the OP.  But I found myself saying: Dont worry - it isn't actually linked to google in any way.  A lowered DA assessment by Moz isn't going to affect our traffic, conversions or ROI.  That's a big one. We now have better data and it's not just affected us but our competitors will now have new DA scores and some are better and some are not. 3)  Nothing substantive has changed in the real world.  This is a measuring tool.  So imagine you were proud of your 40 ft yacht but then the length of 1 ft was changed to 11 inches.  Your boat would now be 'shorter' but nothing has actually changed.  Just how we measure it? Wasn't sure about that analogy. Have you a better one? Thanks.

I am not able to make sure that Which keyboard I select for my website that can easily rank my website on the appropriate keyword, Sir what you have told about the priority of the keyword, It is very important and I am looking at the result as well, but Sir, I am facing the most problem in finding out how to rank the keyword of any site, I should bother to provide complete information about how to make the keywords. if You are a huge site with a good domain authority any keyword difficulties are easy for you to rank but if you are a small brand new site Then try to rank for the low competition keyword and keep increasing the competition score as you grow

Thank you, Russ! Google confirmed me that this change is due to an update, it won't be rolled back and there's no way to fetch data for each variant individually. Details are here. Your tool will help us a lot.

Hi Chris - yes! We know about this bug with the different tabs/windows and have a ticket in to the dev team to address. Thanks for the heads up.

I prefer to think that no new links were added to the internet over the last couple of days because people got off their computers and actually spent time with their family and friends. Wishful thinking

Sorry Rand, but I still don't see the benefit of tracking this metric at all. Moz really needs to do an indepth post about what DA is and how to use it. I'm sorry if it's already been done, and I haven't seen it. Seems like it could be a beneficial metric to track if you could have a larger pool of competitors to see what's happening to their DA.

I hope we might actually have that 11/17 index out a little bit early. We've made a lot of fixes and optimizations, and, fingers crossed, it looks (so far) like it's making a difference in terms of speed to index processing completion.

Thanks Matt I'm proud of the team's work on growing the index thus far. I think we've reached the top of where we can go with the current index's infrastructure, so I'd expect sizes will stay in this range for the next 5-6 updates at least. For the last 4 years, we have been working on a new infrastructure for our indices - something closer to what Google does with real-time processing via caffeine (though not quite as robust), and we're planning to launch that in Q4 of this year, at which time, our index can grow much bigger and much faster (it'll also be fresher, included lots more kinds of data, etc). That system also won't be limited by software (which holds us back today), but rather by hardware (which we can and will buy more of). I really can't wait for that

I suppose you're correct but it's all relative to the keyword in question, isn't it?
