Discrepancy between Google analytics and Alexa
I'll 2nd what Martijn is saying, Alexa can be hugely inaccurate, and the smaller your site is (traffic wise) the more inaccurate it is. If you have Alexa installed on your browser then you are boosting the stats on alexa as you spend more time on your site than anyone else. I only use Alexa an odd time to get a very rough idea of competitors traffic.

Pigeon Update!
Hey Guys! Pigeon is definitely causing all kinds of shakeups, some good some bad, for individual business owners. Best post I have read so far on this comes from Mike Blumenthal's little study of one of his own clients before and after Pigeon. Don't miss this, as it may help you start to get a sense of what is going on with your own business: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2014/08/03/pigeon-an-anecdotal-impact-report/

Anyone facing issues with Google Analytics today?
Yes, I have been having an issue in the Campaigns screen for months now. When I go to Acquisition > Campaigns the results display rows 1-10 by default and my total sessions is 421. However, when I change the rows to 25, the total number of sessions changes to 210. Also, each campaign line has a number and it changes as well. You can see my screen shots here: ROWS 1-10 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B06xisveKSCoamw3NktSaEpNTGc/edit?usp=drivesdk ROWS 1-12 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B06xisveKSCoUE5oMUlMLUFQUzQ/edit?usp=drivesdk Just wondering if anyone else is see this as well? Site: operator and GWT mismatch
Hi Asif, The numbers you see in WMT will be fairly accurate: the numbers for site: searches are rarely accurate, so I wouldn't pay them too much attention. You can usually trust what you see in WMT though. Cheers, Jane

Is it best to avoid the meta keywords tag?
I would just leave it blank, some say remove them or some say add keywords as like Arif said it can be used by smaller search engines. I personally would leave it blank and focus on adding your keyword and also variations of your keyword in the page and in the Title and Description tags. When it comes to on-page work I always think of Marys Chocolate Donuts.... Thanks Rand ha

What is the optimum number of links on a page?
Prashant, You could be told many different things depending on who you ask, but I'd say from my experience working at a company that makes websites, the answer is that there is no definitive answer. That being said, there ARE helpful tips I can give you: "How many links?" is a less important question than "What kind of links?" Consider the position of each page in regard to where it is in your sales funnel (if at all). The closer to the bottom of the funnel (bottom = conversion), the more straightforward your navigation and direction should be. For instance, you wouldn't put a link to your "About Us" page on a landing page or contact form, because it directs traffic away from conversion and the flow of your site. The modern design tends toward simplicity - which means that while it's not necessarily a problem to have so many links, it will be confusing to your customers and lead people away from the content they were initially searching for. People are inattentive and fickle, so you want to guide them. Links need to fit logically with the content. If a page is about a service X, don't link to service Y unless it relates to service X, and you write your content in a way that makes sense. I hope that's helpful for you!

How does one increase a site's Domain Authority?
Great responses so far! I would like to add that Domain Authority is a metric created by Moz, and not a metric created or used by Google. There is likely a correlation that a higher DA will help you do better in search engines, but it's not a metric we're getting from Google or sending to them.

URLs are not indexed
Hi Prashant, If these URLs are only created when a user searches for a term, but are not linked to anywhere in HTML either on your site or elsewhere on the Internet, this is a very good reason why they are not indexed. Google does not usually perform queries on a site (e.g. fill in forms) to "discover" what content might be displayed when those forms are filled in. It's tried and tested method of crawling is just that - crawling links and text in HTML. It has become more adventurous with different technology and sometimes finds things that it wouldn't have previously, but linking is still the primary way to ensure something gets crawled. In many cases, you wouldn't want Google finding content that it has to perform queries / fill in forms or searches to get to: this is how some sites create massive amounts of duplicate content by accident. So in a way, Google is doing everyone a favour by not indexing URLs like this. We have submitted these urls on google webmaster using a "sitemap" for indexing still none of them are indexed. I tend to think of sitemaps like road maps: they're a guide. The site itself is the road. If a map tells me that I can drive across a river but when I get there, this is no bridge, I'm not going to drive across the river. Maybe I will if I have a huge four-wheel-drive car with a snorkel, but possibly not. Maybe Google will index URLs it can't find on the web itself, but possibly not. If you want the URLs to be found, link to them Cheers, Jane

URL Help
Those URLs will be seen as different, but the real question is will the content on those URLs be viewed as different, or do you need a canonical tag.

Does omitted results shown by Google always mean that website has duplicate content?
It might go to supplemental index when: Content is not unique. No content at all or with very little content. You have pages, not determined to have content initially, such as sitemap, contact, Terms and Conditions, etc. Pages that don’t have titles/meta descriptions or have duplicate ones.
