Seeking Help with Domain Acquisition Redirect Strategy
1. Is it possible to redirect everything from www.boughtsite.com to www.mycompanysite.com while leaving the other sub-domain sites active? These other sites have different audiences than our main site. Yes. You can redirect anywhere from a single URL to the whole website. You can certainly redirect the www subdomain. 2. Would it be an okay solution to just place a link on boughtsite.com to mycompanysite.com telling visitors "We have been re-branded to My Company" If you redirect the www subdomain, where will you place this link? You mentioned the subdomains will remain active and have different audiences so the link does not seem to be helpful there. The www domain will be redirected so no one will ever see the page. 3. Can I use an i-frame to move customsite1.boughtsite.com to www.mycompanysite.com/customsite1 instead? Can you? Sure. But why would you want to? What are you trying to achieve with the iframe?

Blog via iframe or not?
I would not do this, either the blog won’t get indexed, or if somehow it does, when people click on the link, they will go to the blog page, not the master page containing the blog page. My guess is that the developers are expecting you to work around their limitations. How far have you gone down the WordPress road? I would make a simple UI with a html editor, save blog post to a database, then pull them as pages in your .net app.

I want my Meta Description re-indexed fast!
In Google Webmaster Tools, you can go in, and go to Diagnostics > Fetch as Googlebot. Once Googlebot fetches the page, you can click the "Submit to index" link. In Bing Webmaster Central, go to Index > Submit URLs, and you can submit the page to be re-indexed there.

Product microdata from Schema.org
I have not placed the code on my site yet but Google seems to be figuring some formats out without the code as I see bulleted lists, dimensions and prices displayed for some of my pages. Even if this data does not improve rankings it might improve your clickthrough rate - especially if you have a kickass price or provocative product bullets displayed.

301 Redirects After Company Acquisition
Ideally, we would like to redirect everything and remove the old site entirely so we don't have to pay to keep hosting it. Is this possible? Be sure that you don't save ten bucks on hosting but toss away thousand in content and the value of a redirect. I would sniff the entire site for gems of content. Anything that is better than what you currently have or supplemental to it. If you can get new pages on your site that target keywords that have been off of your radar that could be a huge win. Now... just saying what I do rather than disagree with others.... I keep an .htaccess file on that old domain for a long time - meaning forever.... you can do that inexpensively by getting a hosting service that will allow you to place multiple domains in different folders of a single account and redirect them. Since I don't know exactly how long it will take for search engines to permanently remember I make it impossible for them to miss.

Buying a website and redirecting everything
As Joseph said, using a 301 redirect will not be tracked as a referral but instead will be direct. Taking over a company with many indexed pages can be time consuming but as he said, over time your authority and in links will be improved.

Should "View All Products" be the canonical page?
Google just announced some tags to help support pagination better. They say if you have a view all option that doesn't take too long to load, searchers generally prefer that, so you can rel=canonical to that page. However, if you don't have a view all page, then you can put these nifty rel="next" and rel="prev" tags in to let Google know your page has pagination, and where the next and previous pages are. It sounds like you don't want to go the view all route, so you should read the second post below and you can implement the rel="next" and rel="prev" tags. (from the view all post below) However, if you strongly desire your view-all page not to appear in search results: 1) make sure the component pages in the series don’t include rel=”canonical” to the view-all page, and 2) mark the view-all page as “noindex” using any of the standard methods. View all: http://googlewebmastercentral.blo... next/prev: http://googlewebmastercentral.blo...

Has anyone seen positive results from using Submiteaze to submit to directories? I know an SEM agency that uses it for clients' link building campaigns, but I don't know if it is worth buying. Are there better alternatives?
Submiteaze may include at least some quality directories. Personally, I've never seen a niche- market high quality directory that allows anything other than direct submission though.
