Making a site back link checker proof
There is nothing you can do to stop it. In order for the link to have value, you need search engines to have visibility to the link. If search engines can see the link, the world can see it. What you can do is ensure the content on your site is of the highest quality which your competitors will have a difficult time matching, and earning links based on your site's quality. You can also raise the level of quality surrounding your site's products or services and earn links accordingly.

Framed Pages and Dynamic Pages
The problem with frames is that Google has problems crawling them. Read what Google says. Dynamically created pages can work just fine. However, not all CMSs are created equal, so make sure to research whatever one you're thinking about and make sure that its pages are crawlable, conform to web standards, and SEO best practices. Good luck!

Adwords Policy and SEO
Google says that what happens on AdWords doesn't affect your SEO and vice versa. As far as incoming links from other sites, no. You should check to see if Google does index these linking sites, because if they don't, then there's no link juice coming in from them at all. If they are indexed, but labeled as spammy/junk, they just won't pass any positive link juice.

A Blogs appearance
I guess a pro for a separate themed site is that you wouldn't be stuck with the contraints of keeping things on brand. EG: you could stray from standard fonts for the sake of a 'pretty' design and generally not have to worry about making one thing look like the other. Would likely give you a lot more freedom. Another pro would be that your blog could also be perceived on it's own merits as well as that of your main site. EG: Perhaps you have topics and content that you don't want to be directly associated with your original brand. If it's not directly associated with an established brand then perhaps it might attract a different audience who doesn't see the content as influence by a parent brand. Pro's and con's for both here. Technically of course, there's no issue i can see.I guess it all boils down to brand recognition and best practice UX.

Ezine Articles
Using Ezine as a source of content will load up your domain with duplicate content. These pages will not pull traffic unless your domain is stronger than any other domain that has the same content. If you submit content to Ezine that will put the content on a lot of other domains, most of them will remove your links and the rest probably have links that are almost worthless. I think that Ezine is a good recommend to your competitor.

Open Site explorer
Once a month we see an update to the index for OSE. I think in the coming days we will see a few update so I would hold tight. Or you can use other services to track incoming links to your website.

Links on the same keyword
I wouldn't go so far as to call the extra links spam. They are not helpful to SEO. They just add extra links to your page. If you sincerely believe they are helpful for users, then leave them. Otherwise, I would recommend removing them.

Making More of Blog Categories
I have an active blog getting hundreds of posts per month with most posts going into two categories (one by topic and one by geography). It has nearly 200 categories. We don't use tags. What we have is wild enough - but those categories pull in an awful lot of traffic and on average get a couple of posts each per week.

Linking from Blogs
Yes, using the same anchor text and linking to the same page repeatedly doesn't look very natural.

With a slash and without a slash
You do want to set up the 301 redirect. Ideally, you want one and only one URL for each of your pages.
