If we utilize javascript to pull information from a database to display on a site, is that bad for SEO? Can search engines still see the data?

Does it hurt your site to syndicate content on other sites?
Does publishing an article from your site on other sites hurt your site if you require a link back to your site?
If website B, C, and D publish an article found site A, but they link back to site A, does that hurt or help site A?

RE: What is the best metric to evaluate keyword difficulty?
That is great advice, but difficult to scale when evaluating thousands of keywords...

What is the best metric to evaluate keyword difficulty?
Which is better seomoz's keyword difficulty tool or wordtracker's KEI index? Or, do you have another metric you utilize when evaluating a large list of keywords?

RE: Does content have a shelf life for link building efforts?
What do you think causes the "freshness factor." Someone asked and I wasn't sure how best to explain it. Thanks!

Does content have a shelf life for link building efforts?
Do you think that content (that doesn't have a date attached) has a shelf life? Especially content that is effectively timeless such as a quiz?
I've noticed in my link building efforts that most links are achieved within the first couple of weeks, and that there seems to be a point of diminishing returns. Why do you think that may be?

Several leading experts say that keyword density isn't all that important. What do you think of keyword density? Do you incorporate it into your day to day activities?

Ad units or % of ads vs content?
When looking at content "above the fold" is it more important to look at ad units or the visual % of unique content to ads? For example, if there are 6 small ad units or one large ad unit that takes up 30% of the page, which is better for search engines?
In general, is 50% unique content above the fold with 50% ads adequate or what % do you try to optimize for?

Setting a 404, best practices
Is it enough to just delete a page, or is it necessary to do something else to 404 a page correctly?
Is there a great link to explain how to set http status codes?

Is 404'ing a page enough to remove it from Google's index?
We set some pages to 404 status about 7 months ago, but they are still showing in Google's index (as 404's). Is there anything else I need to do to remove these?

RE: What to do with content that performs well in SERPs, but is dynamically generated?
I can't provide the exact url, but the dynamic content is a customized search result. User data seems to show that users prefer the content. The CTR is very high as is pageviews, and low bounce rate and they are some of the top pages in GWT. We would de-index all of the urls, but they drive a large percentage of traffic to the site.
Thank you.

De-indexing search results noindex, follow or noindex, nofollow
If search results were not originally blocked with robots.txt, and need to be de-indexed, is it better to use noindex, nofollow or noindex, follow?

What to do with content that performs well in SERPs, but is dynamically generated?
A new client developed an application that generates dynamic content. They were hit hard from Panda, and I believe it is in part due to this application.
About 500 of the urls from this application perform well in SERPs (rank well, drive traffic to the site, low bounce rate, high page views per visit, etc). And there are an additional 9,000 urls (and growing) in the index that don't drive any organic traffic.
We are thinking of making the 500 url that perform well into static pages and de-indexing the rest. What are your thoughts on this?

Where is microdata (schema.org) already being used by major search engines?
I know Google recently launched their recipes search, but apart from this where else are you seeing microdata being used?

How important is it to create a subdomain?
I was just reading an article about how Hubpages claims they pulled through from Panda by dividing their content up on subdomains. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar success?
Also, Panda aside, how important do you think it is to separate different types of content out on separate subdomains?

Is site:domain.com + keyword a good indicator of the quality of a page?
Are the results provided by site:domain.com + keyword a good indicator of the quality of certain pages?
For example, should the first result be more relevant, have a higher number of links, etc than the second result?

How important is quality control for UGC?
In this post, http://www.seomoz.org/blog/ugc-gets-an-a-on-google-test-with-panda-update-12260, it mentions that UGC content performed well after the Panda.
One of Google's 23 questions mentions spelling errors. I am wondering how important it is to ensure there aren't any spelling errors or grammar errors in UGC content post-panda?
