Duplicate meta data - will i be penalised
Hi Neil, Open graph tags are different then normal meta tags. It is okay to use both. Open Graph Tags are specific for Social Media, while Meta tags are used for search engines. In some cases you may want to use the same information in them, while in others it would make sense to target your information for the specific platform. Here is a couple articles to help: on moz: https://moz.com/blog/meta-data-templates-123 on iaquire: http://www.iacquire.com/blog/18-meta-tags-every-webpage-should-have-in-2013 Hope this helps, Don

Setting up a site with different extensions (.co.uk and .com)
Hi Neil, What you could do is have your host set the unused domain (.com) as a parked domain, or just park it yourself in the domain management if your host has one. Then just do a redirect from the unused to the used. Then you won't have to worry about the root folder. As a parked domain you won't be creating a "coming soon page" nor would you want to, since its redirected to the actual domain you'll be using. As for other considerations, at this stage I would just say be sure you want to launch with .co.uk over .com. The co.uk is better for UK specific sites, and .com is better for a worldwide audience. However, it sounds like you already know this. Hope this helps, Don

Exact match domain - should i use one
If your "brand" is going to be "Region Family Holidays" then an EMD is fine. Just make sure you're branded that way, and try to cultivate a variety of natural backlinks. If your brand is "Acme Travel UK" and the site is regionfamilyholidays.co.uk then you'll be fighting a losing battle.

Does embedded content (from my site) help seo
Hi Neil, Don't host the video in two separate locations. You don't want to publish it to Youtube and also store it on your own server, for example. In light of your latest comment, I'd suggest you publish the videos to Youtube, embed those videos on your site, and encourage the hotels to do the same. You should associate the Youtube channel with your own site, and provide links back to your site from the videos (as Andy suggested). Follow the steps outlined in Youtube's guide. In an ideal world -- a world where all 90 hotels were happy to link to your website -- this advice might be different. Ideally, you'd have links to your site. But if you self-host, it seems likely that you'll have hardly any views: your hotel partners won't link to the videos, and the videos won't be easily discoverable. By hosting on Youtube and encouraging video embeds among your hotel partners, you can at least, as you said, generate a lot of interest around the content. Google does favour Youtube videos in SERPs, so this strategy should help your Youtube channel perform well for queries related to your partner hotels. You can use cards or annotations in the Youtube videos to direct visitors to your site, as well as providing a link in the description.
