I agree with the other posts. The URL name is one of many factors; I'd concentrate on making other on and off page factors to try and grow the relevance of the page as it is without any redirects. If it was a truly new page with no authority then I'd simply 301 it but that's your decision.

It can but you'll have to pull a different header for different pages as you do with any dynamic page.

For example if you are using a template and you put that in the header of the template it wouldn't index any page created off that template, so take care when implementing it to ensure it only ends up on the pages you intend it to.

I don't usually index privacy policies and such pages so don't think too hard about those particular titles but something like: 'Privacy Policy | Brand' is the general way I'd go about it.

I would describe what the image is. Having 15 or so images with the same text but with 1, 2, 3 stuck on the end isn't the best way about going about it. Usually I do this for myself as then I know which picture I'm looking at when I'm searching through folders but it's good to add diversity into a web page anyway!

I always start with the keyword I'm targeting and then finish with the brand. To me the general keyword is always going to be more competitive than your brand term so in my eyes that goes first.

Personally I just disallow areas I don't want indexing and let all bots crawl.

Commerce pages must still rank and therefore will still need to be optimised whichn will include unique content. Pointing from the blog content to the e-com page is good but don't use the same anchor text and URL throughout the site. Spice it up a bit

The more times you redirect a URL, in my opinion, the more value you lose. The URLs above look fine. Don't forget your URL isn't the only ranking factor. Are all your on-page elements as good as they can be? Does the content on the page fit with what the URL is telling us?

I would say it would effectively target both but then again you're adding another word in to your title so pushing your main keyword further down.

I'd perform a small test if I was you and track any change. If it changes for the worse then remove the word 'Cheap'. Try also doing a test on one of your other indexed pages if you're worried about knocking your position.

I'd probably keep the one's you've got and do a follow up post. Maybe cover anything that's changed in recent years etc and refer back to the older post whenever necessary.

I personally prefer having a blog in a sub-folder as most of my content would be something to do with my 'main' site. I tend to only use sub-domains for completely different content.

Some of these are all the same product but sorted in a different way. Usually I'd recommend implementing the canonical tag but then some of your products are different so I'd be interested to hear some more replies.

I think it totally depends on the topic. For example, if I see a blog about SEO from 2008 I'll tend to stay away from it as the information may not be entirely accurate anymore. I'll usually sort my results from most recent posts or posts from the past year.

Could you give an example of the category pages? For example is it showing up duplicate on one category with a number of pages within that category?

You can use a rewrite rule to change all the upper case letters to lower case. This should solve your problem before they are indexed and will do away with the need to 301 every upper case URL to a lower case one.

I would agree with Phil, I think the URL is pretty good. Ensure you categorise your site so your URLs don't end up massive and you'll be fine.

Your URL isn't actually that long.

Just to add - try and compress the image as much as you can.

I'd be more worried about waiting for it to load and it having a knock on effect on your user experience.

I'm assuming you mean XML sitemaps here: You can create a sitemap index file which essentially lists a number of sitemaps in one file (A sitemap of sitemap files if that makes sense). See http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=71453

There are automatic sitemap generators out there -  if you're site has categories with thousands of pages I'd split up them up and have a sitemap per category.

I've heard of textpattern but never really used it. It's WP all the way for me. You can chop it and change it to fit your needs and the fact that there is so much support out there when you hit a brick wall there's always someone who can help.
