After some research I've now submitted my site to Newsnow.co.uk, so it should get more exposure. I'd love to have some ideas on how I can use it to generate more leads. I've created a form at the bottom of every post to make contact, but that doesn't seem to be doing much at all

What matters is the overall quality of the pages of your website and the number or quality of backlinks. The order that pages appear in the results of a search at a search engine are influenced by the number of pages that link to that page, and by rankings of the pages that link to that page. When a site is linked to by a popular and trusted domain, that link might provide more value than a link from a site that is less popular and trusted. Domain age may be a factor  but just a minor one. Think about the condition wherein someone would bought a domain and have just parked for last 10 years. Will putting a content on it will give any boost to its rank??

Open the links up and have a look at the page. Is it relevant to your website? Do the other links on the page point to unrelated websites? Install the Mozbar on your browser and have a look at the Domain / Page Authority with the number of links pointing to the website. I wouldn't worry about it if they appeared naturally. A link is a link. Although it may not be as valuable as a link from an authoritative website, its still a link you never had before. I would only worry about removing them if the website is clearly a "spam" website, otherwise dont stress and keep getting links on relevant websites. Greg
