Well there's the rub. Close key words...

all get hits from the rankings data. they bring up different pages as top ranking because different sites and pages rank differently based on the key word optimization.

Now I have the experience to know that in the past a good well developed linking structure will overcome this and you actually can rank for several variations by having a good topical silo structure. I am sometimes surprised what my main page ranks for just because a term is on the page! Content dominating the page does get hits.

BUT...competition is getting crazy in my industry. Sales companies are ranking and then selling the leads.I'm not just competing with similar businesses anymore. It seems like as long as I can vary the content, and i really can, because I have over 30 years in the business and more experience than anyone i know , so i can write varied content all day long!

As for the page, we don't use flash or anything. Had over 100 links on many pages so some changes had to be made.

Tell me more about an easier path to trend instead of doing pages for slight variations. Long term phrases don't seem to get many hits in my business. At least I don't think it's worth doing pages for till we knock off the shorter ones we have a chance of ranking for, which includes the three listed above.

But I have had some luck with bookkmaRKING DEMON, and understand the pitfalls of massive submission, but I deal in facts not generalities.

If the goal is to mix your links accross the pages in your site, and mix the DA quality, or pr of the links, and have them contextual as well as comments, directories, etc. who cares how it is done as long as it appears natural

1. Linkvana claims to be a posting service for you. you put text in with your link and it posts to relevant sites, the same as you would do manually. For my context links I see this as a better way than begging people to give me a link, or wasting time kissing butt of reporters (kike i did in the past). Anyway there is good and bad with everything.

I want to know if anyone knows of anyone who used linkvana and what their experiences is ?

It kind of does, but so does linkvana, and that has been met with a lot of success by people who talk about it.

I know how to make my you tube videos rank better on their site. My question is specific to....Does  it benefit your videos to show up better on google to have back links pointing to the page its on?

Yes that works, but time consuming to sort through for me. still wondering why I can't get the report to show the dup pages, anyone else have this problem?

Nope, no associated links lead to what the pages that are duplicate are. any suggestions? I  had my programmer test this and he got the same results.

What exactly does it do and does anyone know someone who got in trouble using it?

Thanks, I am aware of those things. I still don't want to worry about duplicate content. i have many pages that have similar key words that i can rank for, and I have to write them. I also have a lot of header and side bar info and need my content long enough to overcome that. Writing many pages that focus on similar key words can cause me to inadvertantly write similar info that i need to watch out for. that's why i need a copyscape type program.

With Google's updates we know they want to clean out duplicate content. i have been seeing the same crap spit out even word for word on different sites. Anyway how do you experienced SEO people test for dups on your own site as well as other sites. The only thing i can come up with is paying copyscape 5 cts a test. There has to be other ways. Advise/

Site is now 600-700 pages. Any indexing problems were caused by bad coding, so no.

As for sculpting, i was talking about keeping the do follow links down the same topical silo for ranking purposes for similar key words, not indexing. Does that change your answer?

Anyway, I will take a look at Zoho, I signed up for raven's free mth trial, and adgooroo will do a free site crawl then 10 days free. Check your recent back link structure. A change in Google's algorithims could have render certain key words as not ranking because they are now considered to have an artificial linking structure.

Now I'm confused. doesn't the do follow contextual links mess up the sculpting of the silo effect of only linking below you with do follow links, or does that not matter anymore?

Site just crawled  and report shows many duplicate  pages but doesn't tell me which ones are dups of each other. For you experienced duplicate page experts, do you have a subscription with copyscape and pay $.05 per test? What is the best way to clear these? Thanks in advance

Does this change your response any. I know my industry very well. I am now writing my own content and have in house people to help with the rest. I now realize that when we set up our new site last year as a WP site I was not conscious of how much we messed up the internal SEO. Fixing that now, but forced to write many new pages optimizing key words that we have a chance to rank on. Now here's the kicker (hope I don't offend anyone). I have had schooling in  engineering and statistics and feel that most young people in SEO go nuts on all the details of spreadsheets and metrics, and have little idea about time management for profit. After being in business for over 30 years i know that many things are involved in attracting clients, converting them, and profiting. I see SEO as a tool to get more people to my site and converting them. So I want the best optimization and the best  SERP. I don't want to waste our time creating graphs and rehashing the same info many times.

In the past, Google trashed our site a couple of times(trashed meaning didn't show our pages but no know major penalty) I was part of a link farm, and had the same link text in many links, beginner type stuff. Now I just want to continue to develop good content under high searched for key words and get good back links.

I know my competition enough and my industry to quickly assess the types of links they have and if i want them. So my issue is, do i really have to be concerned with other tools? I have watched part of the advanced DVD's I bought from SEOMOZ and it seems like all this extra stuff is for show and overkill.

Can you tell me what you think I really need or may need and why, beyond the seomoz tools? Your answers will be greatly appreciated.
