Does anyone know of situations i can look up where Google penalized a site because of press release pages (hosted on a non owned major site like prweb or whatever), where the prweb page obtained back links from a group of sites that Google felt was part of a "farm"?

RE: How Does Google connect Owners of Several Sites?
I was afraid I needed dedicated ips, had that before then switched, we switch back.
It may be impossible to have separate names and addresses, can you let let know what source I can go to to get the latest on this. Things are too critical to risk based on any opinion, including mine. Thanks for responding again.

How Does Google connect Owners of Several Sites?
let's say I own 20 sites, all non duplicate content and Google sees that some of them has linked to sites that they consider a "farm" or other violation. So they give penalties to those sites. What happens with the other sites and how can I keep sites the most independent?
For ex: These are my questions...
Will google follow no follow links to see that they are connected to the good sites and penalize them?
If they are all part of google anaylitics with good and bad sites, will google attack them all?
Will google look at the owner of all the sites and connect them that way/
I need to know the extent Google connect site owners for penalizing. please only answer with knowledge, and if you can supply specific links, that would be great too, thanks.

RE: Does anyone use Adgooroo to manage Back links?
I appreciate your help. i understand a lot about the seomoz tools and I'm not new to seo, just a bit rusty on the changes in the last few years. The one month i was referring to was just to find out with links i have are bad.
I have a raven tools subsc. too and I'm looking at many things i can do to better mkt. My concerns with adgooroo is that i had a trial 1-2 yrs ago and quit because i couldn't see how no follow links can help. i was recently told by them that i could filter the results by do follow or not. I can afford the price, even though i do think it's pricey, but beyond raven and seomoz I'm trying to see the benefit.
Does it really scope out sites to link to that seomoz can't find? I'm still not clear on the extra benefit of using them along with raven and SEOMOZ...
thoughts on that?

RE: Does anyone use Adgooroo to manage Back links?
thanks for the insight, if it's on the high side, what else can find those sites to link to that they claim they are great it? also how important is cleaning out bad one way links from poor sites. Is it worth paying for a month?

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
Yes i do. This was a fruitful weekend for me to sort out many ideas I needed opinions about. I now have a plan yo put into place that I think is appropriate for me. It's interesting to see the wide views that exist on links, especially from a group that mostly does this for a living.
Special thanks to you, EGOL,marcus and all else who shared your views. I will continue to post and use this service.

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
I welcome your way of thinking, it is similar to mine in being creative. My stopping point however is that most people who will pass this type of thing around are not the people who will pay thousands of dollars for professional help, and who need it right away (the two qualifying Q's for our services). There actually are calculators like that in existence, it has some value, but not much. Anyway, i don't want to seem like I'm negative. I like your idea of seeing what most people are concerned with. Actually I already know most of what my clients are looking for. I think when I write content pages as I am doing now, I will add my insights from experience. Instead of just giving my version of the same boring stuff, I could have it be around what to do based on my tears of experience dealing with those issues. Thanks a lot. I'm still serious about my offer. Or i can trade you for free tax advice, or something.

RE: Pad Submission Software
I'm seeing what rand says to be true in other areas like blogs and articles. Sorry I don't have a specific answer for you.

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
My programmer did create a download link on free advice we offer to save people from spending thousands needlessly, but it didn't take off much. occasionally I can trace a hit back to a site that hosts it.
I like the current events thing. I plan on creating a news site so my posts to it can be part of google alerts, which will also show up in google searches since they do that now.
I'm seeing that I can create posts that help people given the current events in my industry and get that circulating, rather than just focus on key words that rank. The buzz should be about how I can help with a current situation for free. Interesting! Sometimes when I post a comment on the huffington post i'll get about 20 hits that day.
maybe I can pay you to create a plan for my business for social marketing, i like what you have to say. Email me at joe@taxproblem.org. We can put our heads together on this. i have ideas too, but still trying to find the right balance of SEO techniques and marketing.

Thanks for sharing that. We are currently putting in place creating content daily and then submitting it for traffic. We social submit and must admit we quickly must change the link mix. social sites and directories do dominate the links. I like how you favor content and then recognize the need for a little push with social submitting. Again, I appreciate your forwardness about this, and your taking to time to look at my site..

Does anyone use Adgooroo to manage Back links?
One of the top guys here is a friend of Matt Cutts and makes sure your links meet quality tests, etc. Also helps you find quality sites to get links from. I'm sure a lot of you manage links for your clients and and your own site. Any users out there or know of someone who uses it and gives you feed back/ Thanks

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
I agree with you. But,I wish it was that easy. I know my stuff and explain it well. Feel free to visit my site and see. Most taxpayers in trouble are still of the mindset that the company that makes the most promises is the one to hire. I have national competitors who still have a huge business even though a Google search will reveal all the complaints and government actions against them.
I know that the more targeted hits i get the more business we will have. We usually win when compared to others a lead is considering.
I'm just trying to sort the good software from the bad really. Considering adgooroo now, any comments?

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
Totally agree. I'm just a bit slow sorting through useful tools v.s tools that break Google's rules. It's my nature.
I'm searching for the most effective methods. This weekend is getting me closer . Considering adgooroo now for link assistance, any thoughts on that? -
RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
Don't appreciate the slamming. It sounds you you are new to your profession and still need to justify yourself being right even though you don't read questions carefully. Don't respond to my questions anymore unless you are just trying to increase your moz points, which I wouldn't put it past you to do. If you look at my site you would already know that i produce good contact, and some competitors linked to it on their own, but you would have to read comments carefully before answering them to know this. DON'T COMMENT ON MY POSTS ANYMORE. If you want to slam me send me an email.

RE: Anyone use and like Brute force Evo 2
I appreciate your concern. Very few links are deserved in my opinion, but these discussions are helping me to sought what to do. I realized earlier that even a good product like Linkvana can be frowned on by Google because it has it's own network. Better to get links from independent sites. I won't use Linkvana or other network type link software for my main site.
i can see doing articles and blogging etc. get links my competitors have ,but something has to have more pull for rankings.

RE: I'm aware that spamming tools can lead to ruin..what do you use as a backlink strategy.
Agreed. I have ideas about approaching large companies and offering free services to their employees, and offering schools etc (who have high DA sites) articles etc. on accounting. And will spend time in that area for quality links.
However, i don't believe people naturally link to the standard old time professions. Dr., Lawyer, accountant etc. like they do to the latest news on Brittney Spears. The internet is still a young persons game. It evolves more based on what values the younger generation has. When I was young my interest were the rock groups i listened to, T.V. Girls, etc. As we get older and have families our interests include finding the right schools for our kids, the right Dr's, lawyers, and accountants. How many people want to spread the word that I know a technique that can save them penalties on their taxes? I'm not saying it doesn't exist, or is impossible to do. There is actually a large community of like minded professionals out there for me to associate with. What I'm saying is that link building does not spread the same way as it does for more popular interests, and as such, the job is different.
So I am really not ignoring the human element (though it sometimes might appear that way), I am being a bit hard core about the need to manipulate the linking structure so that my pages rank high. Thoughts?

I'll ask as I need to, thank you. You can choose not to reply.

RE: Anyone use and like Brute force Evo 2
Though I appreciate your input on my questions, and certainly don't want to discourage you from answering again, I don't relate very well to analogies.
I trust my ability to sort through facts. I don't think you understand what linkvana does. If the proper objectives are met, than any programs to help get you there are good in my opinion. If it's a violation of Google's policies , then it's not o.k.
Using software to automate a process that is normally manual should be o.k. Now if the result results in stuff that 1. Either hurts your site rankings or 2. Is in violation of Google's policies. Then It's not good.
So does anyone know if anything Linkvana does is in violation of any of Google's policies? Because it sure makes a good addition for getting contextual links.
