Does Google check Whois
Let me answer the question another way. To be honest, Google most likely doesn't look at Whois data - they don't need to (more on this below). The real question is... Does Google know what websites are associated with you? Do they care? And does this factor into ranking? The answer to the first question is most likely yes. For one, Google became an ICANN registrar (just like Godaddy) in 2006. This means they have first look access to all newly registered domain names. There are also a million other ways to determine relationships between websites, such as shared IPs, Analytic codes, link patterns and so on. But do they care? We don't have hard data on this, but Google reps have made comments in the past that links between sites that have an "administrative" relationship aren't as valuable. That's why you see SEOs measuring links from unique C-blocks. (This is one of the metrics in the SEOmoz Competitive Analysis Report). This is one of the ways Google is able to sniff out link networks. If you own a bunch of sites, and you engage in aggressive inter-linking between these sites, those links are likely not going to count for much, and could even hurt you. In the end, this means the value of the links from sites you own may not be as strong as links from outside your network. And aggressive interlinking between your sites - especially with aggressive anchor text, could get you in trouble. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

Site ranking position 1, after 1 day existing
If I was going to try to do what you describe I'd probably do it by 301ing another domain (or many other domains). That would explain the lack of backlinks to the main domain. I'd probably also block the crawlers of all SEO tools I knew in the robots.txt of the source domains to keep that profile hidden for longer. You might be able to get away with "recycling" the source sites a few times as the main domain gets penalised as well. I'd probably fake a load of social signals as well, but I don't see that has been done. Interesting that they put the whole site in a frame too. Not sure what that is about.

Does location of Server matter for ranking in country
In general terms there is no significant benefit to hosting in country, it was thought that it mattered more ages ago. You should though host on different IP's, if you have a hosting package hosting all of your multiple .tld domains on the same IP there will be little or no benefit to link building. So in essence it would be good practice to host on different servers and why not in country if you are hosting that domain?

Does Google look at page design
Hi Cyrus, Maybe I wasn't very clear in my previous comment; I know using website templates on multiple domains won't cause you to get a penalised by Google, but the article that was linked to said, Google has changed the algorithm to look at the layout of a web page and this didn't make sense to me. This is why I mentioned changing your on-page optimisation to ensure you at least have different content on different domains that use the same template. Slightly off topic, but I wanted to say that I thought your White Board Friday was really good (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/stop-optimizing-and-start-creating-whiteboard-friday), you covered a good topic and explained it really well.

Get Higher in Google Shopping
Regular updating of your feed. Even if nothing's changed, regularly resubmitting, and not letting your feed expire seems to help. Using as many of the data fields as you can - giving customers the most accurate, up-to-date information possible gets rewarded by Google. Ensuring the feed you submit is without errors. Getting good site reviews seems to help too (and if nothing else should increase CTR). Finally, a good 'history' of accurate data, error-free feeds etc. - the longer you've been doing things the 'right' way, the more trust Google seems to put into your product feed

Outrank a keyword-only domain
Agreed. When I see a KW.com I trust it much more than buy-green-widgets-at-cheap-prices.com.

Ranking with a .nu TLD
Is it possible for me to get this site high in google with good links and quality content? I can't speak for the .nu domain specifically, but you should certainly be able to rank well in google if you build solid links and quality content. When you mention any random company name like "McDonald's", "Toyota", etc. you can add a .com after and arrive to the company website. The .nu domain does not have that kind of name recognition, but you can certainly build it. Your challenge will be not only building up your brand / site, but also ensuring everyone recognizes that your extension is .nu. There will always be a percentage of your visitors who will enter your website name followed by .com and end up on the wrong site. You should definitely take a look at the .com version of your URL before making a final decision.

Average time to see results after linkbuilding?
PA = Page Authority and DA = Domain Authority. These are values SEOmoz use to "emulate" PageRank (emulate may not be the best choice of words). you can get access to these metrics via the SEOmoz toolbar or opensiteexplorer
