I have a blog on a separate address to my website.
http://cheshireweddingphotographyblog.co.uk/ and http://celynnenphotography.co.uk
Now I'm going to have a new website which is going to be wordpress based and it will sit on the main website (http://celynnenphotography.co.uk ) and include both gallery and blog.
now the blog does well enough on google, etc.. so i wanted to mix their SEO juju and all that, but what happens with my blog?
Do i: Stop paying for hosting, nice and simple.
OR Do I need to do something?
OK...so what about:
Portrait Photography
Better?

Ok.
What do you think of my current categories then?

Right.
So right now my categories are:
Commercial
Portrait Photography
Etc... Carry on or.....?
Thanks!
Right.

The reason for the "relevancy" for me is more to do with search engines. For example, I have clients in London looking out for photographers in North Wales where they would like to get married.
When I put subcategories, I noticed the category (weddings) and sub-category (north wales) were both mentioned in the custom URL, which I thought made it better in terms of getting to the website rather than when client look at things within the site itself.
Hello!
I'm a professional photographer and have used categories in an old blog to separate my work. (weddings, portraits, etc.)
I'm starting an new blog and everything was imported, except categories so as i started rewriting them, I noticed the 'personalised URL.
So I was thinking of re-writing my categories based on types of jobs and location.
For example:
*North Wales
-wedding photography
-portrait photography
-commercial photography
*Cheshire
-wedding photography
-portrait photography
-commercial photography
and so on...
Or do you think it's best to just have shoot style categories?
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
Right... so really simple landing pages that simply explain that if they want more detail, they need to go to the main website?
So taking http://cheshireweddingphotographyblog.co.uk/, forwarding it to http://www.celynnenphography.co.uk/blog will make http://www.celynnenphography.co.uk/ (my main and "most important" website) worst?!
Hello again..
Last blog question for a while, I promise!
The annoying folk behind my website say that the only way for my blog to be at http://www.celynnenphography.co.uk/blog would be to frame forward it, because of how they are hosting, managing it etc
Is this an acceptable and useful thing regarding SEO? (I want my website to benefit from my blog's content)
Thanks a lot guys!
Ioan
I have a few URLs... Is there any benefit for me to frame forward these empty domains?
What is it's done through Frame Forwarding?
What is it's done through Frame Forwarding?
This is what he told me after what you guys said. Is this accurate and OK?
"In making this transition from having a separate blog domain for your blog to celynnenphotography.co.uk/blog please be aware that there are several steps involved that can result in temporary down time for your site and blog in making this transition. Please also note that since you are making a major DNS change on the domain for the blog it can take some time for the blog to re-index on search engines. Also your Photobiz site will be down until this transition is complete, and after that it will index on Google as "site.celynnenphotography.co.uk""
Hello again!
The other day I was asking about my blog which is on http://cheshireweddingphotographyblog.co.uk/
Based on the answer, I decided I wanted to move it within my website. So I emailed Photobiz saying I wanted it to become:
http://www.celynnenphotography.co.uk/blog
They want me to make it: blog.celynnenphotography.co.uk
They say the benefits (re: SEO) would be the same but that there would be more downtime if I wanted it done my way.
Are they right in saying the benefits would be the same for blog.celynnenphotography.co.uk as it would for http://www.celynnenphotography.co.uk/blog ?
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your response and the link to the video!
I have a website:
http://www.celynnenphotography.co.uk
I also have a blog which I put there because I thought the URL would be useful:
http://cheshireweddingphotographyblog.co.uk/
Should I:
Move my blog within my website's url? (i.e: http://www.celynnenphotography.co.uk/blog )
Make a NEW blog within the website's URL?
or leave it as it is?
My interest is raising the SEO of my website.
Thank you!
