Page title tags and joomla/JCE
No problem. The JCE Editor doesn't set the Meta Title Tag, just the content that is contained in an article. It sounds though that you have now found the relevant place. So is it working for you now? Peter

Web server locations for international seo
Thanks for the speedy response. I was hoping that was the answer. We have a VPS in the UK so I'll go for that. But it does lead me to a follow on question. How do you account for regional variants in search results? I understand that each variant of a search engine can use a slightly different algorithm and a local site is more likely to have local links but there does seem still to be a greater disparity of results than these things would suggest. Many thanks, Iain

Using rich snippets with a CMS?
Hi Iain, First of all, there are 3 types of rich snippets markup formatting: Microdata Microformats RDFa Now Google says on their Rich Snippets page that they recommend the first one (Microdata) In your case, in order to have apply the rich snippets you will need to edit the templates of your CMS. For example if you want to add the review for a page you will mark-up the correct dynamic code that displays your reviews. I am not really familiar with webEdition, but if you need help, shoot me a private message and we'll figure it out together, ok? Greetings, Istvan btw: the example from Google's people rich snippet My name is Bob Smith, but people call me Smithy. Here is my home page: [www.example.com](http://www.example.com). I live in Albuquerque, NM and work as an engineer at ACME Corp. My friends: [Darryl](http://darryl-blog.example.com), [Edna](http://edna-blog.example.com) it should look like: ``` My name is Bob Smith, but people call me Smithy. Here is my homepage: [www.example.com](http://www.example.com). I live in Albuquerque, NM and work as an engineer at ACME Corp. My friends: [Darryl](http://darryl-blog.example.com), [Edna](http://edna-blog.example.com) ``` ``` Now your job, in order to have it with your CMS is to find the code that outputs this and mark-up the code itself with correct microdata information.

When is it best to use a ccTLD or TLD?
Hi Iain, Great question. Like a lot of things in SEO, the answer of whether or not to use a ccTLD is... it depends. Pros Using a country level domain can boost your SEO targeting in that specific area, may help with click-through rate depending on local biases, and sometimes it's easier to create a country specific "brand" with this approach. Cons You have to do SEO for each site. Your Italian site may get links, which doesn't help your German site. Duplicate content becomes an issue if you publish the same articles on multiple sites. Maintaining muplitple sites becomes harder. Questions to Ask Will you publish content in multiple languages? If so, will you publish multiple versions of the same content? If so, you will want to make use of the hreflang tag. Are you targeting specific countries, or multi-country regions? If it's the latter, than a single domain may be more efficient. I'm not a true expert on international SEO, but one of the best overviews of the topic I've seen is this WBF by Rand: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/international-seo-where-to-host-and-how-to-target-whiteboard-friday You may also want to check out this post: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/international-seo-dropping-the-information-dust Regardless, hope this gives you something to think about. Best of luck with your SEO!
