Do we lose Backlinks and Domain Authority of URL when we change domain Name?
Do we lose backlinks and domain authority when we change domain name? Assuming your site structure, file and folder names, and content remain the same and you do 301 redirects then no, you would not lose backlinks and domain authority. You should also: benchmark key metrics (for example, site speed and rankings); update internal links (don't forget about your non-html pages as well); check for and fix and redirect chains; tell Google (via Search Console) that your domain name has changed; set up new properties in GSC (www, non-www, http, https), set your preferred profile and geography, and eventually merge profiles into a set; transfer your disavow file in GSC; track 404 errors (that could indicate you've missed some files) and customize your 404 page to help visitors that encounter them as a result of your domain name change; update any external URLs with UTM codes that point to your site (UTM codes get stripped with redirects); update your domain name in Google Analytics; update your sitemap and add to GSC as well as your robots.txt file; I usually update major sites that point to me as well, things like Google Maps, local data aggregators, and social media sites; and check your traffic, rankings, and GSC daily for a while so you can react quickly if something's amiss. Unfortunately, it is rarely the case that only your domain name changes in which case you'll need to a page-by-page mapping. Don't forget about images and PDF files that may be indexed separately from HTML pages. Check out this slide presentation (https://www.slideshare.net/bastiangrimm/migration-best-practices-smx-london-2018) from SMX London 2018. It was recommended by John Mu at Google and is really useful.

What data we don't get from link explorer that we can get if we add a campaign?
Hey! Great question! The data is the same, however, Link Explorer (not in Campaign) allows you to Compare Link Profiles (i.e. compare more than one URL) - https://moz.com/help/guides/link-explorer/compare-link-profiles Whereas Links within your Campaign allows you to check out link opportunities - https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/links/opportunites The rest of the features are the same Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be more than happy to help! Have a great day! Eli

Posting same content multiple blogs or multiple website - 2018
Hello there, Actually if used correctly, content syndication can be an effective way to help your site ranking, I'm assuming you have a main blog that you want to syndicate the content on it's to other blogs with different groups of visitors, so ultimately they might visit your main blog from that syndicated blog post. There are some things you can do on syndicated posts such as canonical, noindex, etc. You can read on this 2 post which explains each method in details: https://searchengineland.com/syndicated-content-189097 https://neilpatel.com/blog/the-step-by-step-guide-to-syndicating-content-without-screwing-up-your-seo/ Hope this helps Joseph Yap

I lost traffic from my website and the rankings also gone down... What should I do?
Unpaid plug: WPMU DEV is a good service for Wordpress as well. With their backup, optimization, CDN, and compression tech their annual fee is still below what you'd pay trying to piece together all those services somewhere else. Plus GREAT support. There used to be a coupon code here in Moz's partner section as well. They might still have a special deal if you ask. For your situation, you'll want to check to see that your database is still referencing the same URL structure as well (look for things like switching from www to non-www as default or HTTP vs. HTTPS.) As Sean says, focus on URL structures. If old URLs are working just the same as the ones on the new server, things should be fine. Do you see any crawl errors in Google Search Console? That will give you some of the best insights.

Negative SEO - Spammy Backlinks By Competitor
You're forcing your competitor to make some really bad strategic decisions. Use this - if you know or suspect who it might be - to inform your competitive strategy. Keep disavowing the inks and they will get bored and give up because it's costing them time and resources to build them. It's like tennis. You need to 'force errors' in your competition rathe than going toe-to-toe with them. Have they recently started advertising for the categories where you are hurting them? If so you can look at the ads and find out their value proposition and most profitable categories and erode their market share by being better than they are and draining their resources. I don't know if there's any negative SEO police. I'm not sure you'll get very far with that although you could hire a forensic white-hat-hacker to try to reveal their identity. But I don't see how that will help. And I don't like bringing even ex-hackers anywhere near my business for obvious reasons.

Canonical tag On Each Page With Same Page URL - Its Harmful For SEO or Not?
Hello HuptechWebseo, No, there is no harm in having an autoreferrential canonical tag. In my experience, that tag is set as a reminder and/or to be used when tracking or other parameters are used with that page. I dont remember having read any experiment and/or done experiment where having an autorreferential canonical tag carries benefits. Hope it helps. Best luck. GR.

Doubt Regarding Moz Spam Score
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us! When I analyse 'whatiscbd.com' I see a spam score of 2. Would you be able to write in to help@moz.com so that we can look at this further please? If possible would you also be able to send a screenshot of OSE showing your spam score as 9. One reason as to why the spam score is different between the two, is because I can see different inbound links which are only pointing to either the www version or the non www version of your site. (Regardless of whether they redirect). Looking forward to hearing from you, Eli
