Yes, building enough backlinks with the correct anchor text will get the page ranked high but there are 100s of similar pages to that on our website. I can't have backlinks to every one of those pages.

Thank you all very much. Yes, Farsi is Persian. CleverPhD, I'm definitely going to add the markups you suggested. Gianluca, I'm not targeting Iran with the Farsi translations - that is definitely a second goal. I'm targeting Iranians around the world who search on Google in Farsi. Or simply Iranians who land on the site because our offline marketing but they prefer a Farsi website because their English is not very good. The language markup and the hreflang markup seem basic and easy enough to implement. I also found a bunch of wrong URLs in our sitemap that might have caused some duplicate content issues. I've ran the on-page SEO tool here on Moz too. Moz bot doesn't seem to be able read Farsi but it doens't give me any accessibility issues. Again, thank you for your replies.

I think that your "hub" pages can be category pages and more. Imagine a hub page for widgets with.... "how to do it" articles down the left column, "widget reviews" down the center column, and tips on "how to enjoy widgets" down the right column. These could look like your sample page or look like the homepage of Slate.com... or any other news site's homepage or category pages if you have enough content.

No. You just need to wait for Panda to refresh. However Google recently said that they are now rolling Panda out with the regular algorithm so you won't know when the refresh will happen.

Hi EGOL, Your points are well taken and it sounds like YouTube is definitely the best option for your business.  If you are using video to generate ad revenue then YouTube is a great partner...  my comment that their business is built for advertisers plays both ways -- if you want ad revenue then this is a positive attribute of YT, rather than a criticism. Our customers (ourselves included) use video in a very different way.  Instead of a direct source of revenue, we use video as a marketing tool to drive customers to our website, to explain our products and business, to provide support to customers, etc.  We don't want YouTube to own these assets and we certainly don't want ads appearing anywhere on our videos or our site.  Obviously we are not the solution for everyone using video on the internet and that is not our goal -- we just want to provide an alternative for businesses who want more control over the video assets that they spent lots of time, effort and money producing!
