I would personally like to thank everyone that responded with an answer.  Man O Man, the best part of belonging to SEOMOZ is the community forum.  It's incredibly valuable, being able to ask a question and reach out to such talent as all of you.

If anyone ever gets up to Killington or Okemo skiing, the beer is on me!  I live right between both ski areas, about 8 miles to either mountain..

Within my Moz crawl report, I have a ton of duplicate content caused by identical pages due to identical pages of http and https URL's.

For example:

http://www.bigcompany.com/accomodations

https://www.bigcompany.com/accomodations

The strange thing is that 99% of these URL's are not sensitive in nature and do not require any security features.  No credit card information, booking, or carts.  The web developer cannot explain where these extra URL's came from or provide any further information.

Advice or suggestions are welcome!  How do I solve this issue?

Thanks for the answers!  Sheesh, it never even occurred to me to think of sites like Trip and Yelp.

Unfortunately my friend (home building/architectural services) did a swap of services which has made this all the more complicated.  Lesson one, never swap for services.

It is on a windows server in answer to Alan's question.  The short answer seems to be that the developer does need to incorporate the WP into the Main Site's architecture which should not be a big deal.  In a perfect world, as suggested, is to simply cut the losses and run!

I have a friend that just spent 15K on a new site and believe it or not the developer did not incorporate a CMS into the site.

If a WP blog is built and the URL is added to the site's XML sitemap, for all intensive purposes, would Google view this URL as part of the site in terms of overall number of links, referring domains etc.?  The developer is saying that even if the WP URL is added to the XML sitemap, Google will not view this URL as part of the site domain.

I cannot think of another way of adding unique content to the site unless the developer is paid to build new pages every month.

If the WP blog is not part of the overall domain, then we're left with the URL simply pointing back to the domain with anchor text and such and not adding to the total number of links and RD...

ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks guys!  Just for clarity, I didn't necessarily mean the SERP's as much as I did Youtube or Twitter search.  I created business profiles for each and neither was showing up in either Twitter or the Youtube search engine.

The good news is that the business profile is now showing up this morning in Youtube search!  YAY...I have a few clips made that I can start slowly adding to drip some good content into the profile.

The Twitter profile is not showing up just yet but their are over a dozen followers in a day a half after I followed some good people.

Does anyone have an idea how long it takes for the business profile to show up on youtube and twitter?  I created profiles yesterday around mid afternoon.  I searched for both today and they do not show up just yet.
