Downtrodden Adwords Quality Scores -- Really?
Loren first off in your number crunching, I'd suggest you calculate a weighted average of your Quality Score, whereby you take into account the number of impressions for each keyword. This is my general thought based on limited knowledge of your account: The most tell tale factor is that you have an aged account of 2+ years with a lousy historical CTR. This is going to greatly impact the QS of any keywords you add to your account no matter how relevant (or how much better you've gotten at creating relevant campaigns). Your predicted CTR is terrible, so your QS reflects that. There is an implied volatility, and what I haven't been able to figure out is, how much change it takes to impact your QS. I've noticed that if your future CTR is really good, and your keywords have high volume impressions and clicks, the QS can improve very quickly (sometimes within days). But if the new keywords you've added are low volume, it can take a long time before your QS improves to reflect the underlying relevance. George Michie of RKG wrote a detailed blog (rant) post about Quality Score, and while it doesn't directly answer your question, it does educate you on what goes on in that "black box."

Sherpas for a journey of best practices for social media marketing?
Loren, it's my pleasure. I love SEO and I try to learn from any professional and any problem I meet on my way. Yesterday, just after our phone talk I signed up for Market Motive's Social Media Optimization course. This will definitely benefit our undertaking. Thank you again Loren. -Slava

Why "title missing or empty" when title tag exists?
Hi Ryan, Thank you for the reply. Yes, content for millions of part numbers is hard to come by for one's own use. It's proprietary for most companies. When we have more part information, such as a part we have sold, I have a plethora of good information on that part because we've inspected in (photos, detailed visual examination, etc). Example: http://parts.usbid.com/SAA7115HL.html Yet, there are millions of parts we can sell to people that we haven't actually sold yet. We have hundreds of vendors. We can procure parts from other sources for our customers (as well as out of our own inventory). Since we offer hard-to-find parts, businesses come to us when they cannot find it via other channels. How do they search? They dump the number in Google and look for reputable sites that can provide a quote on that part (qty, manufacturer, etc). So, many times all I have is the part number and a list of those on the page **is not great content. So admitted. ** It's the best I have to generate a lead. If you have strong thoughts on SEO attention and content for the arena in which we play, I'm all ears. Like I mentioned to Cyrus, I am looking to work with talented people to improve content and SEO. Whom do you recommend? Kindly, Loren
