Yes I would agree it doesn't cause harm however it doesn't do anything else either. The canonical doesn't make a difference really. I wouldn't see how it protects you from scrapers or people stealing your content having your page indexed first is irrelevant of the tag.   look at it another way if a scraper stole your content they could just stick a canonical pointing to them selfs and thus claim it was their content, it wouldn't work.  It all boils down to who Google index's to and if most people are pointing to the original (in theory)

Reason I pointed it out was it may have been an error of Google getting in a muddle with the canonical and might of been worth a try

Federico is correct that if you're whitehat you shouldn't need to worry but sometimes stuff happens (even mean competitors) you can use the likes of majestic SEO or open site explorer to look at metrics like domain authority or trust flow etc.  Still a bit manual but at least you can see in bulk.

Remember though just because a site has a low metric doesn't mean it's a bad link etc. it could just be someone with a blog who doesn't have many links etc. and wants to write about an experience he/she had with you. It's a far better effort to focus on building good quality content for good quality links then put your time and effort into trying to find bad links you may or may not have. Even if you have a couple they are part of a natural link profile and can be improve again with better quality on site content etc.

I'm sure some people are buying many of the new TLDs they do not give and more or less ranking benefit then .com etc. what matters the most is user experience and good content. There are some thoughts on exact match domains etc. but if you have a bad quality site with thin content it won't matter.

Hope I've interpreted your question correctly here so correct me if not.

Landing pages and your site are in the same boat, what I say this lets look at it this way:

Google looks at your LP but to better understand where this page stands it will look at eh surroundings of this page to work out whats relevant it will also look at links going in and out of the page to get an idea what the page is about and how related to a query it maybe.

Now the other thing to remember is the KW planner tool is to help you get ideas for PPC and what words its not a list of keywords Google uses on your page.

I wouldn't over think it too much, there are a million and one things for SEO and it all adds up but content is always a good start if in doubt think of the following: "Why should my page rank number 1?"

Make sure you put the user first, they need to navigate around your site nice and easy and have great content the rest will start to fall into place.

In short:

KW planner is a planner its to help get ideas for keywords not necessarily what keywords Google is suing on your site.

Each Tools has its ups and downs and you will find one that fits your style I recommend Hoot suite  you can do most of what you say there, its got a slight learning curve to it but once you get your head around it its pretty good at what it does.  I've heard people mention Sprout Social but not had any experience with it I'm afraid.

Fetch as Google works well alternatively you can also post on twitter and it will get crawled from there depending on how popular your account is etc.

Looks like you've gotten to the bottom of it there.  The canonical tag is best as you wouldn't loose any link juice but it would get the desired effect of not indexing the filter.

You could look into running a link detox software to get a rough idea but be careful as it always over delivers on toxic links, it could be that you need to remove other links. Don't forget Google like to watch you squirm in your response say what you've done can even mention that your sorry and your business is suffering, give an example of an email you sent to webmasters etc.  just disavowing is not enough any more.

Just keep adding the links Google gives you and keep going it can take time and a massive amount of frustration, there are also some great resources  here on Moz of guides & how to's etc.

Directory, articles social book marking is no longer a good method for link building and if end up with you getting a penalty. It's always good to focus on long tail keywords but that doesn't mean you want any link profile of you have to look over optimized you want it to look natural and naturally most links will be a direct link.

You can put a link where ever you want but be careful as it will look unnatural and get you penalized. You can create blogs that relate to your niche or find a community in the same niche and connect see if there is a link opportunity etc.

Try to work out where a user would find a link to your website helpful e.g if your site is about gardening a gardening blog or forum may be a good start. Directories can be alright but again as long as its in the niche and not spammy.

Assuming the info is the same content (duplicate) just with a colour etc.

I would put the tag on that page pointing towards:

www.example.com/electronics/apple/iphone/5gs

What the tag is doing is saying the page (123456) is a duplicate of the another page, here is the other page (the link in tag) then Google will put all relevant juice to the original.

The canonical tag is great for duplicate content but it by putting it on a page deeper in the structure it only affects that page not any others.  You can sometimes get a bit ahead by trying to canonical pages that don't exists like www.exsample.com?yay

No. Trustpilot reviews are usually included, but only Google decides if, when and how reviews appear.

There is a bet on when it will be but its any day now. I suggest you keep an eye on seo new sites. We've just had panda so I'd give that a bit of time to settle.

Buying a domain for the purpose of redirecting isn't the best use unless its in the same niche the link profile will look different. You could work on creating a separate site with good content that engages people and then can get a good link via that or risk 301 the site however its not a guarantee of a boost in SEO and could just dilute some of the links you've already earnt.  It depends on how white/ black hat you want to play it really. White hat wise you've wasted your money, black/grey hate there are some uses but they don't always work.

Google's pretty clever at working out what a page is, you shouldn't worry about key word density as it's an old practice that's not really that helpful any more. Work on making good content. Google will look at the content and links and work out you're about mens clothing.

If Google just took the keywords it would be very easy to manipulate and would be spammed which is why keywords density is no longer used.

The most straight forward way is - do nothing: Google's pretty good at finding back links and will find them at some point

Now you can always fetch as Google or submit the link to Google plus or twitter which can speed it up but its is not ideal for larger volumes of links so really just wait it out.

unfortunately taking the url out and taking internal links away will not get the penalty removed you need to work on getting external links removed for it as that's where the penalty has come from. You can disavow them (I also recommend dropping them an email) if you don't want the page. There are some great guide here on Moz if you take a quick search.
