Just think of how often you have really read the video transcript of the wbf videos .... probably, hardly ever you do - they're basically for the search engines, to be able to index your video according to the content you're talking about.

By the way, as transcripts are usually "spoken language", by transcribing podcasts you cover tons of search phrases you wouldn't normally publish in an article - but these are phrases people DO use when searching.

There's no such thing as a certificate that automatically imporves your SEO or increases your rankings. I guess most users here will agree that SEO improvement for a site translates to hard, ongoing work done by professionals.

If you're referring to SSL certificates - they're not related to SEO ... check out http://www.thawte.com, for example, I believe they are among the biggest companies specialized in the area of SSL certificates.

YES! We've seen a significant drop in visits via google images when one of our clients eventually changed their file-upload-backend and files were named automatically like 445390348043534.jpg - we then added a separate module only to assure the naming is correct and useful, and are slowly recovering the lost google images visits.

First of all, you might want to make sure you configure the version you prefer (with or without www) in the google webmaster tools, to give google a hint ... technically, www is a subdomain - if you'd like to rank for your domain name without www, links to www.yourdomain.com might take away some linkjuice if you don't employ a 301 redirect.

try to export the data in excel ... there you can sort, copy, paste, create new lists, etc.

We're working on a tool using the seomoz api ... for domains we're always getting the right values, but for longer URLs we're having troubles ...

You'll find .es as well, of course, especially when the .com is already registered people will look at .es domains. But be prepared to find tons of very small businesses, clubs, associations, etc. with .com domains.

That might depend on the location where you're from ... here, in Spain, .es domains are pretty rare, .com is what you will find the most, users' expectations, for this reason, also change ...

We've seen a great potential here with some of our projects' competitors and are also thinking that there's a point to go for this strategy ... as long as you're not promoting one site that then links to your main site, but use your satellite sites to promote the main site, I believe there's a good potential.

I'd suppose getting a considerable amount of links from the respective language for each domain should make sure the respective domain shows up in google when searching in the respective language ... e. g. getting links from French site for the French domain, from Dutch sites for the Dutch domain, etc.

As you can define the localization of generic TLDs in the Google Webmaster Tools, you don't have to worry about the "association with the US" (think that was more the case a few years ago). Using a .com with the local setings in the webmaster tools, and maybe even a local IP, you're almost as good as a local TLD I believe.
