Panda / Penguin Testing on a Site - Has anyone see this?
Let me make sure I understand the question. Our corporate name is what DMOZ uses instead of our domain name so our anchor text backlink highest percentage comes from abc corporation at 18%. Second keyword achor text match is 7%, this one links to our page that survived the storm. We only have about 9 keywords that show any type of percentage on our backlink profile. Although english to spanish translation is a good keyword, more of the keywords that were lost were not even listed as anchor text in our link profile. Example, German Translation Software - dead ringer for what we offer, was first page. Now about #57. Hope I was on the right track, if not please let me know. Thanks,

Panda and Penquin Fall - Could HTML Design an Issue?
Thanks for the comments Cyrus, I think your post is making me rethink my strategy I guess I am just tyring to fix the wrong items, I was focusing on other areas because I never really went after backlinks to any degree so I thought how in the world could I be demoted for links. We have a small online directory where we offered backlinks but we only allowed links that really was a benefit for our customers. Mostly translators who did a service we did not offer. I think where we got in trouble is we had it set up with a sample link with a keyword in it so they would put a link to us in hopes we would exchange but they were never accepted but they did not remove the link to us. Our directory only has 65 links after panda/penquin, we had 100 before. Again thanks, I will focus on the backlinks more now. Never thought we would be hit by negative seo :-(. So much for doing White Hat all these years. Force7

Should I use these Meta Tags or Remove it?
Have to disagree here. First of all, meta tags ARE used by a number of smaller search engines, including Bing, which uses them when they have no other information available about a site. Also, beyond search, many directories and social bookmarking sites auto-pull meta tags to generate content for their pages. If you use either of these linkbuilding tactics (which can be beneficial in moderation) having the meta tags will save you time. I also don't buy the argument that meta tags will help your competitors. Any competitor worth there salt will be able to figure out what your keywords are-- if it's obvious to the search engines, it's going to be obvious for them too. So having your keywords in a meta tag isn't going to hurt you.

404 Error from site - is this normal?
I went to the main site and it is a page set up with just the domain name, looks like there is no real website with links. Looks suspicious for sure. Thanks for helping! I will investigate this further.

Panda or Penquin -Website Fell - Shouldn't this Recover?
Hi Force7 Unfortunately, it looks like Google threw a little bit of everything at you, so untangling the mess may be a little tricky. Thanks for including the exact dates of the traffic drops. From these we can clearly see you were hit with two different penalties. March 23 - Panda April 24 - Penguin http://www.seomoz.org/google-algorithm-change Panda - This is a tricky one to pin down, but you may be going in the right direction by fixing the duplicate content. I don't quiet understand what you mean by the "php Link Directory" but if you can get it fixed, I highly encourage you to do so. Recently however, we've seen instances of Panda targeting link profiles, and if you've been double hit by penguin as well, that's probably a good place to look. Looking at your backlink profile, it's obvious there's a lot of low-quality directory and article type links in your profile. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links.html?no_redirect=1&page=1&site=www.translationsoftware4u.com%2F This could easily explain both penalties, and when we look at your site's distribution of anchor text terms, there is large proportion of optimized terms http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?page=1&site=www.translationsoftware4u.com%2F&sort=domains_linking_page&source=term&target=domain Which helps explain the Panda penalty. Have you received any messages in Google Webmaster Tools? So what can you do? Unfortunately, cleaning up a large link profile is hard work, and so is rebuilding it with clean, high quality links. I highly recommend reading Dr. Pete's article on the subject. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/penguins-pandas-and-panic-at-the-zoo No easy answers. It's okay to have a few spammy backlinks in your profile, but you want to look at the entire balance of your links, and make sure you're earning the majority of your links in a natural looking manner from high quality sites. Regardless, hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

Duplicate Content - Home Page even wth Mod Rewrite 301
Thanks for the great advice. But once you've added the non-www to www redirect as you wrote above, why not just do this in .htaccess for the ".html to /" issue? Redirect 301 /index.html http:/www.mydomain.com/ Or In this case if you've done the ref canonical on he "/" home page, is that good enough or do you still need to redirect /index.html to "/" ? Thanks!

Wordpress site, combine Blog without hurting SEO - Need Expert Advice
Yes, you will, but it's going to prove far less of a headache than working with what you've got. if you stick to the same design, import the same data, and keep the URL's the same; You won't hardly lose any page weight and authority. Looking at the URL structure at http://www.nextgenrestoration.com/, the URL's can be kept the same with the right permalink structure. If you're referring to the /blog content regarding everything having to be 301 redirected, then there will be a few simple processes available to make the migration smooth but seeing as this will be Wordpress to Wordpress database, you may as well export the old /blog and reimport the blog data before working on the new fresh install of Wordpress.
