Matthew, ...it sounds like you think Google can handle multiple sets of markup on a page? With a few exceptions yes. For example we regularly use schema for Local business on the same page that we have review markup. This markup is used by the search engines to provide the best results on the serps. I am sure there is a way you can go overboard, but I am not sure there is a penalty for that if all of it were true. For product reviews, you do not want review markup on a page for more than one product is an example of not having multiple sets of markup. (But you could have local business markup on that same page. I don't think the WP sidebar markup hurts (but it is of no value to your site IMO). Hope this finally clarifies, (sorry I did not see the question after my first response) Robert

Hey Brent, Thanks for the response.  I have a follow up question.  So are you saying that if seomoz is showing a ranking of 9th for a keyword term but when I, or my client, search that same keyword term it comes up 37th (with personalized results turned off) that it should show up as 9th in time?  For example, I have another client whose ranking for a search terms has been on the 4th page for 3 months, but seomoz has shown it bouncing between page 1 & 2 for that same time period.  If seomoz is right, I am going to be a hero, but if wrong, it looks like everything I have done for SEO for them has done nothing. I noticed you said you can predict changes "within a few days" which would suggest that my 3 month scenario is likely to be caused by something else like user error.  Usually I see user error working the other the way though.  The client or I have clicked through to a website multiple times so it comes up higher in search results than it really is due to personalization.  But, in this case, the results are coming up substantially lower than seomoz is showing. Thanks EGOL. I appreciate the feedback and agree with your feeling about too many questions equals don't use.  My client only uses Cloudflare for email address obfuscation.  Do you have any opinion about that particular service and the fact that it makes the email address look like a broken link to a crawler?  Do you think Google is savvy to this type of thing or that it is likely to hurt search rank? We discovered this as well.  What implications do you think this makes for lead generation and web marketing as whole? A high number of sites use social like/share buttons directly under or around the content piece in an effort to share or like a piece of content.  If that schema does not translate or correlate into likes for a specific piece of content while a user is browsing on the website and only if they actually visit the facebook page, is there a point to even having these icons in the first place any more? Shouldn't the freed space be better utilize if there are no benefits for the likes in this manner? PS. Sorry for responding to such an old Q&A!

I also like the idea of adding the like button to your site. Don't forget that you can get Facebook Insights for your site as well! I wrote a post earlier in the  year that talks about how to set it up: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/4-facebook-marketing-tactics-you-might-not-know-about. This gives you access to data regarding what people are sharing and liking on YOUR site as opposed to what's happening on your FB page. Hope this helps! Jen
