how can i update plugins if i get this:

one main concern - i am doing exact match blog post title searches to see if his posts are being indexed and none of his posts show up in serp
my other client ranks #1 for all of his exact match title searches
i hope i am makng sense here - copy/paste title into google search and i see one client rank #1 always and the other not rank at all in first 5 pages ever
client not ranking has robots.txt
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-includes/ou
client ranking #1 has no robots.txt file at all
any idea why a site could rank well but blog is nowhere to be seen even for its own unique post titles?

my first client ranks #1 for the exact phrase of each blog post title
the 2nd client doesnt rank anywhere when i search for the exact post title
2nd client has robots.txt

so that shouldnt noindex any posts right?
his site ranks for many kw's - but oddly none of his blog posts are anywhere to be found - i dont mean for a kw search - i mean for searching for the entire title he doesnt rank anywhere in first 5 pages for any of 6-7 posts i checked
any idea what could cause this?

do you mean we should go back and change post title length or just do it from here on out?
how can i tell if his posts or his blog is noindex?
i know di#k about code - i am just not seeing any of his posts ranking anywhere in top 5 pages

my client GWT has a number of notices for "blocked by meta-robots" - these are all either blog posts/categories/or tags
his former seo told him this: "We've activated following settings:
to reduce keyword stuffing & duplicate post tags
Disabling all 3 noindex settings above may remove google blocks but also will send too many similar tags, post archives/category. "
is this guy correct?
what would be the problem with indexing these?
am i correct in thinking they should be indexed?

my client has a page on his site: www.revisitors.com/REF/TEST
the page is for a free traffic offer...i have this page currently ranking 25th or so for "free traffic" - a great keyword to rank for to promote this offer with.....
i want the url to be www.revisitors.com/free-traffic.html and then change the title tags to free traffic | free targeted traffic
or something along those lines....i have hardly put in any linkbuilding work at all to get to 25 - it was a surprise but now that we are there i want to tighten things up and optimize as well as possible....
how do i do this without losing previously built linkjuice and without having a duplicate content issue for having both pages exist with a 301 redirect....
if i am wrong about something please dont hesitate to set me straight...i am only masquerading as an seo expert these days anyway.....thanks.
i hadnt realized this question was answered - i actually forgot i ever asked it - but thank you for the reply - when i use rel=canonical am i telling the SE's that i prefer www. ?
if the answer is yes - then i am all set - and the confusion is over
