RE: Javascript data
Yes, the bots will read and try to index your Javascript, which you don't want. (Google says its bots can read around 90% of all Javascript.) You'll want to create a separate .js file (like you would with CSS file).

RE: Framed Pages and Dynamic Pages
The problem with frames is that Google has problems crawling them. Read what Google says.
Dynamically created pages can work just fine. However, not all CMSs are created equal, so make sure to research whatever one you're thinking about and make sure that its pages are crawlable, conform to web standards, and SEO best practices.
Good luck!

RE: I recall last year that there was a discount for pro Moz members to SMX East - anyone know if there is one for this year, or where I can find that? Thanks!
We don't have a code for SMX East, and I'm not sure that we had one last year. As Matt pointed out below, our codes are always on our perks page.
That said, if you're interested in coming to MozCon, July 8th-10th, you can use the code SMXMOZ to get $100 off.

RE: OSE Link Report Question.
Hi Seb,
"Number of Links" includes the total amount of links from all websites. Two links from the same website would be included twice.
Hope this helps!

RE: How can I exclude display ads from robots.txt?
You'd want to make the URL paths where the display ads live to have the crawl disallowed in your robots.txt, just like any other section of your site. Here's some basics on robots.txt.
Hope this helps!

RE: On-Site Optimization and Repeat Customers
I would start with your client's most valuable pages and make sure those are optimized. Then I would work on the other categories/product pages that your client's long-term vision for the company is reflected in. For example, when I sold outdoor clothing, the company was expanding into outerwear long-term, so I made sure to optimize my outerwear categories and product pages, especially to get into keywords that we weren't known for or even ranking for.

RE: How To Best Close An eCommerce Site?
Putting up a notice on the homepage and allowing users to go in and delete their information is great. I'd definitely set a time limit on that based on how often the majority of users come to your site, say if you know your return customers come back every month than you leave it up for 30 days, if it's every 3 months, you leave it for 90.
I'd be very clear in the copy what you're doing with the customer information and insure their privacy and respect of their information. If you're migrating that information to your other site, let them know. If you're deleting it, let them know to.
Same with the email newsletter people. Send them a notice via email and let them know about the site closing, what's happening with customer accounts, and if you're moving their emails to another newsletter. If you are, you might consider having them re-opt in for that newsletter.
After the time period, I'd 301 redirect it instead of building a 404 page. This is going to be better for your SEO and the vast majority of your customers will already know that you closed the site and that they could visit your other site. 301s are permanent redirects. They are valid as long as the file that redirects them is live on the web.

RE: Any idea when the mozcon 2013 videos will be out?
Hi Tim,
Unfortunately, there is no word. I was told maybe this week. Right now, it's not a matter of the videos, it's a matter of making sure that all you attendees get your free ones and that people can buy them if they weren't at MozCon. Our team says they're still testing this as they were running into bugs. I'd hate to release them, and then you not get them because of a weird bug. Sorry for the continued delay.

RE: Places to Find Good SEO Webinars
We actually had a webinar at the end of July about e-commerce. It was changed to "free," as the author did a follow-up blog post, so you'll find it further down the page with the free ones.
We're hoping soon to have more.

RE: DNS lookup timeout
The increased visits could be slowing down your site. Did the 30% increase happen at the same time as the errors started?

RE: Re-platform effects on Page Rank
301 is the best solution possible. Many people have asserted that you can see up to a 10% dip initially. (Most people only see dips from a week to a month at most.) However, over the long-term, with a better site & URL structure, you should see a rise in traffic. I have no seen anyone doing a predictive modle on this.
Seer Interactive did this test 301 Redirect Test: How Much Link Juice are YOU Losing? which saw no rankings lost, but favorable outcomes in the long-term for the better site.

RE: How many devices can I download the MozCon 2014 bundle onto?
Lindsay is correct. You can technically download them as many times as you want. Our digital rights for them only extend to one downloaded copy, but we're pretty generous / don't really care for those sharing around their office. We do ask that you don't put them out publicly, do public showings, or charge others for them. Thanks!
