Edmond, Having read your question and the response above I have one thing I would add based on years of marketing experience (not just digital): With any ppc campaign you should always be running A/B testing as a mechanism to either improve conversions or validate what you are doing. I think this is the most under utilized tool in all paid search.  Running an agency I can tell you that we occasionally fall into the trap of not doing this regularly with clients who are being very successful. To me that means we are complacent and due to have a fall. So, I urge A/B testing. Robert

Yes it can definitely hurt your rankings as it will give a signal to Google that the page is indeed somewhere else and for a homepage that is usually not the case. I would to try to get rid of the canonical URL if that indeed is the way to go.

You have to use the home address as the main point to send the postcard & list on the Google business page, then hide the address. Do not use virtual offices, po boxes, or anything else to try and game the system. The reason Google is tougher on this niche is because so many locksmiths have done shady things to manipulate the system and gain an advantage. Follow the rules and set up the page legitimately to have longer term success. If there is no physical office location, you must use the home address. Optimize the website to cover the different service areas that you want to target (use local landing pages), which will help improve organic ranking in those areas. Do not create multiple pages for each location (that's another violation), just use the home address & hide it on maps when you select a service area.

The comments above are right, you do indeed need at least 30 reviews in the last 12 months that have been posted to one of Google's review partner websites. See here for a list of locations you could use. Once you have accrued a number of reviews they will be appended to your adverts. Secondly, providing you are competitive in your SERP positions you could also look to implement Aggregate Rating Schema into your sites code, this will allow you to also display star ratings in your organic listings helping you to again stand out from your competitors when people search.  You can look into this further here.
