we submitted XML sitemap yesterday..

thank you so much...our page is highly visited and aside from our main website is the second visited page.

what can i do to notify Google that the page is missing.

Has anyone had this happen? My page (just one page) is gone from the search results.

Not only did we lose our position in Google (we were #9) now the entire page is completely gone from Google index. However, It is on the first page of Bing and Yahoo. We did have our server down from Friday to Monday.

I went into Google webmaster tools on Monday and saw a big X next to sitemap. It said HTTP Error 404 detected on August 21, 2011. So Google went in on Sunday and came up with the error. But why only one page is missing and all the other pages still show up?

I was thinking that page was blacklisted by Google but when I went to Webmaster Tools to listen to "Requesting reconsideration of your site" video all they talk about is the "site" being blacklisted not a particular page.

Any one has any ideas?

Is there a way to Rank above wikipedia? Please share any strategies..

I haven't used Press Releases in my SEO that is why I am kind of questioning that method.

Has anyone used PRWeb for press releases? Especially their basic plan. The link for the site itself is very valuable but I am more concerned about their distribution network. Any success with this site or any other? Thanks

I've been analyzing my competition and found some great directories with High DAs that require the Reciprocal code to be on the same domain as the submitted link .

When I went to my competitor's website, the reciprocal link is not there. Does he/she put the link on their page, than have directory verify the code, and then remove the link?

If anyone fully understands how this works, please let me know.

Many SEO's disagree on this subject so I wanted to see what everyone thinks.

Producing an article and then distributing to multiple article directories. In the eyes of Google is this considered spam(duplicate content) or it is not? As I understand unique content is good SEO. However, I also understand that visibility of the content on multiple sites is very important.

If its on page JavaScript and it is pulling data from database dynamically, than this is bad. However, if the request is made and JavaScript is running on the server it will output data as a plain text. This is Good. Google is looking for content. So when you view source all you will see is text that server side script produced. Try to keep on page data clean and do data gathering on the server side. This will speed up the page load and improve user experience.

We have a blog hosted directly on WordPress with a PR of 3. At this point we are moving this blog to our server and incorporating it into our website. I wanted to ask the experts how to go about moving this blog without loosing Page Rank. Is it possible to do a 301 redirect from WP itself? Is there anything that I can do to preserve ranking?

Any help would be appreciated.
