Maybe upping your admin fee will help encourage them to write the content but really they are just paying for a link
If someone wanted a link from my site and wasn't willing to provide content they wouldn't be getting a link.
If it's something that I might actually like to link to then I'd expect the relationship to have started a different was rather than a direct request without content.
You have to remember it is a trade they are getting a link and you are getting added value to your site also.
I am not really getting it????
Why are you linking out to sites when you are writing the content? The whole point of having guest writers is to add more content to go along side your own content.
If someone can't be bothered to write a good piece of content for your site then don't link to them unless you think it helps your readers.
Hey Mike
As already suggested set up lots of social sites and spend some time on them i.e don't just set up a twitter account actually use it and it will rank very highly.
Another great way is to find all the good stuff out there on the web and link to it!
Doing this will help give it a push in the serps hopefully pushing up the good and clearing the bad.
Hope that helps
Just reports it to the moz its probably just a bug that they can get sorted.
Oh and the point of this is to get some followers quickly and then just let them do the work for you with RT etc.
Tip for the competwition is to give away something that is actually related to what you sell, sounds obvious but people often give away things that people will go bad for; Ipad etc
Give something related and they will engage with you and buy from you.
Hey
My advice is find someone who is already doing what you are wanting to achieve that is in the same niche as you, then follow their followers and add real value to your followers.
Following users will get you noticed and you will get some followers back from it but don't over do it thats just spam!
Also consider some competitions etc a good start is http://competwition.com/ this will get you some followers pretty quickly, just be sure to set it to a 30 day comp to maximise your followers.
Remember though add value, engage with people and don't spam.
Hope this helps
PM me the site if you want and I'll take a look as it's difficult to say if without seeing it
Hey Justin,
Basically the bots follow the links so it might follow example.com and example.com/index.html once it get to your actual page it then reads the canonical tag which indicates which version is the correct version to use.
Hope that helps
Hey
Quite easy really just add the following snippet
rel="canonical" href="Your URL Here" />
This should be placed between the tags of the page.
BUT.......
Make sure you are using this correctly, if you have duplicate page titles due to canonicalisation (http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/basics-of-search-engine-friendly-design-and-development) then that's fine but if its just because you have duplicate page titles across your pages then they need to be rewritten.
Hope that helps
Hey Kevin
Just hit the help button and it will explain a notice to you.
Basically it is just info about your site and due to the canonical tag having a massive effect on a site it is worth paying attention to.
For example if you were working on a new client and it reported each page had a canonical tag then you would want to check they were correct.
Hope that helps
The campaign crawler will detect urls regardless of whether they are indexed of not, you should do as EssEEmily says and set up a 301 to the version with the most links if you haven't done already.
Oh and don't think just because one version isn't indexed now, it can still cause you problems down the road especially when linking is involved.
Also when setting up your redirects if you have a small number of links set it up regardless to the xxx/ version as this is the one most likely to be linked to.
There can be other duplications of pages so it is advised to have the canonical tag on each page.
It's also good for other reasons as well so yea click the option for the canonical tag.
Yea I have noticed changes and a change within link profiles
A 301 will pass over the link equity also!
Hey Sean
If I were you select all links to "any" and don't exclude anything that way you can do with the data what you please in excel rather than restricting yourself.
But I guess it just depends on what your using the data for.
Cheers
