Decreasing the size of a site to increase SEO value of remaining pages?
No i would not remove pages, How pagerank works is in simple terms, image that every page is awarded 1 point, you have 3 pages your site has 3 points, you add 3 more pages , your site has 6 points, but divided by 6 pages, back to where you started. but by internal linking you can pust that 6 points onto one page, you may end up with 1 page with 3 points and 5 pages with 0.5. What i would do, is chose a page you want to rank for a subject, term, keyword. then all other pages that have relevance i would link to this page. I once again suggest reading this page http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html

Missing Cache - very strange
no, not to large, it was the third most popular page behind the homepage. Whole page size is around 3mb.
