Google Webmaster tools: Sitemap.xml not processed everyday
My initial reaction was that this is more likely technical than something Google is doing - checking the load-time is a good idea. Make sure the sitemap validates and there's nothing odd about it. If you manually re-submit it, does it seem to take?

Domain changed 5 months ago still see search results on old domain
Hi Jacob, Thanks for elaborating on advanced queries, those help us to see how many of our pages are indexed thus far. It alarming that we see more than 120K pages on old domain unlike 40K on new domain even after 6 months. We zeroed on not having a consolidated site map with all the new urls fed to google might be the reason as for the limitations of our CMS, we were not able to generate that at domain change. But we are in the process of generating and see where it takes us. thank you,

Missing new pages in Search
Hi! Instead of blocking the old site.com/category/categoryname by robots.txt you should do a 301 redirect to site.com/categoryname. That way you will get the new pages indexed faster, and keep traffic from all the old links etc. Hope this helps Anders

SEO Title Tag Best Practice?
Robert, I've always looked at the 70 charters you get in the title as the most important 70 characters on the whole page and every character you use there should be well thought-out and have a strong reason for being there. Of course branding is important but rarely do you really need to take up space in your title in order to rank for your brand. It's often better to use that space for a concise handful of words that vividly describes what the page is about.

301 redirect with /? in URL
Hi Robert, The rewrite rules shared by Patrick should work well for that although you could also use Yoast's Wordpress SEO plugin that features options to do that through the control panel. Nonetheless, in general what can be better in performance and also for tracking purposes with your site URL, leaving tracking parameters while avoiding content duplication content is to use canonical tags. You can also set them easily for Wordpress with Yoast's plugin. I hope this helps! Aleyda
