Random keyword inbound links good/bad/no difference?
Alan, I get what you are saying but since Google Penguin focuses on back link profile and relevancy I strongly do believe that you need to take this into consideration. If you put your business name on every website you create with a link to your websites you'll have links from maybe cooking websites, financial websites, recreational websites all pointing to an internet markerting websites. Since there is not relevancy between to links from and to the site you're creating non usefull links. I read a post on this subject in the Moz blog section of this site not to long ago about this particular subject. I just searched for the article but couldn't find it that fast. For the visitors the links can be usefull but for a seaerchengine there is not substatial value in these links. Do you get what I mean with that? regards Jarno

Best PPC data tool?
Yeah, I have that problem sometimes as well. If a client is new to paid search and they don't understand a lot yet you can keep it simple. If you deliver SEO reports on keywords, include a report on the top converting & top traffic KWs from Paid Search as well. As far as costs and stuff go, it depends on how detailed you want to go. I think you could probably stick with a simple information if the client doesn't want to know much. @AnnieCushing is definitely someone to follow if you're looking for excel tips.

Old site spammy links, rebranding, what is the best option?
Teehee, being a bounce board sounds fun. I think you're right to err on the side of caution with regards to confessing and repenting to Google as well, but that's just me being a sceptic.

Pro Campaign crawls - why no Referrer?
That's exactly what I needed to know. I presumed I was missing something as there would be no point in doing it twice!

Keyword rankings not updating
Hi Brian, I'm glad to hear that your rankings have now updated. Unfortunately, rankings are an unstable and fickle type of information to collect, but I certainly apologize for the delay you've experienced. We experienced a bug that began on Wednesday of last week which caused the ranking date to be collected much more slowly than usual and so rankings for some campaigns were about two days behind. We are currently caught up with the rankings and the bug that created the delay should now be fixed, so we expect the rankings for this week to be delivered on your regularly scheduled date. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else. -Chiaryn

Will natural rank drop if I make a Google Places account?
Thanks for that additional information I was unaware of that. In this case the company has 1 location and I have achieved rankings in the second location as that is where 80% of their target market is.
