Is text that is burned into the code stronger than text that is retrieved from the DB?
Moosa and Marie are both correct, there is no difference between hard-coded text and text rendered from data retrieved from a database.

What is the proper way to display e-commerce product guides? PDF / JPG?
PDFs accumulate and pass link equity, so add a link back to your site in the PDF itself to avoid it becoming a dead end. An added bonus is the many sites that scrape user manuals and other PDFs and republish them, usually with your link intact.

How does Google treat menus that are opened with hovering?
Google isn't seeing the "hover", Google is seeing the code for the page. If your menus are made with html, Google will be able to read the links just fine. If you are using Java, Google has historically had a difficult time reading Java Script. I have programmed menus that are html, but will substitute fancier Java code when the client can use Java. This has given the best user experience while making sure that Google can read the links.

Internal Site Structure Question (URL Formation and Internal Link Design)
With an eCommerce site I would always recommend having as flat of a site architecture as possible. This make's it easy for the spiders to crawl and the users to find the content without having to dig or land through a SERP. If you are adding new content to your article section that you want to be unrelated to the existing content in the current sub-folder being used, then creating a directory to house the new content with a more descriptive sub-folder name is the best idea in my opinion. I would make sure to have the link in the header OR the footer but not both. Just design it for whatever makes sense from the user's end and you will be in good shape. I would also recommend that you label the pages with the Google recommendation tags (rel=next, rel=prev, and the not-so-trusty rel="canonical") and identify those pages you don't want indexed with Bing URL Normalization.

Do Share buttons take LinkJuice?
I think you are correct. Here are the AddThis buttons script samples (no href): <a class="addthis_button_preferred_1"></a> <a class="addthis_button_preferred_2"></a> <a class="addthis_button_preferred_3"></a> <a class="addthis_button_preferred_4"></a> <a class="addthis_button_compact"></a> <a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a> Here are the ShareThis buttons which are used by SEOMoz on blog posts (without <a>):</a> <a>Just in case, I think I will go with ShareThis from now on... Still looking for more ideas if anyone has...</a>

Are breadcrumbs any good and Should I insert links on the Item descriptions and specs?
Yes use bread crumbs and also use contextual links. Regardless of what Google says or people think for the SEO aspect. These additions help your users. In addition you can tag your contextual links with something like product-page.html?ref=context. Then in Google Analytics you'll be able to see if these links are being used. And if so, how you can make the user experience even better. -Guy

Are htm files stronger than aspx files?
File extensions doesn't make any difference. I think you must have read about static page vs dynamic pages. Generally aspx or php is used for developing a dynamic websites (database driven websites). But, even if you're developing any such website you can deal with by URL re-writing. You can ask you developer/programmer to re-write the URL into SEO friendly static urls, i.e. without query (?) string in URL. Hope it should answer your query properly

Do onpage likes and shares affect Google ranking?
Hello Noamflint, Getting the "likes" seems to be not as important as getting "shares". Having shares over likes correlates with higher rankings in the top 30 results. I believe that having more on-page likes or tweets could motivate a person to like/tweet/share the content. Visually seeing that a page has hundreds or thousands of people liking an piece of content usually I am a bit more interested in reading more. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/facebook-twitters-influence-google-search-rankings

Is traffic and content really important for an e-commerce site???
Nice little thread here, read all of it :). I would be inclined to attach a signup form for a newsletter as the content is good. Then I would include the latest informative article, tutorial in the newsletter connected with car accessories, link to facebook, plus 1, twitter page. First to get some social engagement which in turn should help out with SEO but then an added benefit of flogging some accessories (although you would need to sell a lot of smelly trees to make anything) but you get the idea, I would site down and draw it out, give it some serious thought.

How does Google treat texts in spinning banners?
I can say that they read all, well at least in a case where i have done so. but if you are using some fo the plugin around, then look out. Many of these plug ins use text-indent: -99999 , this is confored as a spam signal by Googles Maile Ohye. It is worth noting that many CMS sites use this tacktic un-known to the user.

Should 301 Redirects be used only in cross domains or also internally?
It's okay to put similar available products on the product page that is no longer available. Before de-indexing them, make sure that the category pages have not garnered any backlinks. If they have, it might be worth 301 redirecting. If not, let them become deindexed.

HELP - got the following message - Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links
Hi there, A lot of people have been receiving these warnings for blog network use and other low-quality/paid links. I wrote about it on the blog recently. My advice is to do your best to remove the links that are clearly low-quality - Google is telling you directly to clean things up, and may hit you with a penalty if things don't get better.

When to put a blog post and when an article in the articles section?
If that's the case then keep the blog focused on the company / brand and website updates. And use your articles section for the additional long tail things. honestly I think article "sections" are dead and I would suggest merging the two into the blog. but if you want to keep the separate articles section then keep the blog about just the brand.

Is there a reason to put a canonical to yourself? Interesting case...
Its not the correct use of a canonical, but some people do it so if they get their content copied the canonical will point back to teh original. Bing does not like it, they say of you do this on every page they will ignore them along with any canonicals that may be of importance http://www.bing.com/community/site_blogs/b/webmaster/archive/2011/10/06/managing-redirects-301s-302s-and-canonicals.aspx

What happens with a 301 redirected page?
Ok i see, If you were to 301 them, you will end up with a lot of 301's very quickly, why not just leave them there or delete them, Idealy i would have the pages generated from a database, and when the are sold the page can 404. As i said a 301 will not help you if they have no incomming links. If you really wanted to be tricky, you could have a 404 pages that has a auto search that takes the url assuming the url has product info in it, and searches for simular products to display.
