Hi
I've done Google fetch & render of this page & I have images which Google/customers aren't seeing - how do I identify the problems with this page? http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/chairs
Ok thank you, so there must be ways to improve on the number of pages Google indexes?
Hi - yes it's the default.
I know we can't figure out exactly what Google is doing, but we can improve crawl efficiency.
If those pages aren't being crawled for weeks, isnt there a way to improve this? How have you found out they haven't been crawled for weeks?
Hi
I'm reading about crawl efficiency & have looked in WMT at the current crawl rate - letting Google optimise this as recommended.
What it's set to is 0.5 requests every 2 seconds, which is 15 URLs every minute.
To me this doesn't sound very good, especially for a site with over 20,000 pages at least?
I'm reading about improving this but if anyone has advice that would be great
Thank you everyone! I should have noticed this, so thanks for pointing it out.
Thanks for your help!
Becky
Hi
It's flagging up on all pages of the site in my SEM rush audit, I just can't identify what's wrong

Hi
Thank you for the tips, I'll check out Dr Andy and the site you sent over! How much time do you spend on keeping up to date with evolving SEO?
I find that with the daily grind, I find it hard to keep up with
Thanks!
Hi
Does anyone know of any online training resources/webinars/training UK based that will cover the following for SEO:
I'm trying to develop my technical knowledge - I have always been more focused on content/KWD research/optimisation.
Thank you
Hi
This is actually what I've been working on for the past few weeks, health implications of poor office chairs - stats to back this up in an infographic & a couple of articles to support this. & why you need an ergonomic workspace.
Then as we have a new school chair range, I've done one on back pain in children & the health implications.
Thank you for your other tips! We have a lot of ranges which I find really hard to be creative for - e.g. cupboards.
Most of these blogs also charge to put content on their site & I know Google is against this - what is everyones view on that?
Just need a bit of inspiration!
Hi James, sorry I know we have another similar thread going about this!
Not harsh at all - it's something I don't know enough about so need to brush up on. I will do some research on caching mechanisms. Why won't any of my other SEO matter?
Becky
Hi James
What is the best way for me to no index the facets? Include in robots.txt?
Hi
Haha very true. You have some great ideas, I definitely need to think outside of the box and spend more time on research - I just feel sometimes when I'm researching I'm not spending time on things like onsite optimisation. Now our team is bigger, I should be able to pass some of this work on.
You'd suggest setting up a new blog to do this though? And not on our own blog? Alternatively, could we get articles like this put on other relevant blogs?
Thanks!
I need help - I'm trying to boost the rankings of a competitive category page - Leather Office Chairs
First I'm thinking I need earned links - but for something like leather office chairs thinking of interesting, unique content people would love to read & share is proving difficult.
I am struggling - can anyone help?!
Hi
Thanks for this! Yes speed I have also raised with our development team in France - again I have no control over when they work on this or how. I can only make improvements locally.
Our site is Key.co.uk
I want to get https implemented across the site, but again this relies on our dev team.
For 2 years I've focused on properly optimising product titles/meta & descriptions & this has helped but I've hit a wall.
Our competitors don't seem to be building backlinks, they don't have more content than us & I just cant find a reason for them ranking so well.
Hi everyone
Thank you for your feedback this is really helpful!
Is it worth having any placeholder information on the new domain to build up authority whilst we're in the process of the migration? Obviously we don't want it to be duplicate info however so it doesn't have a negative impact.
Thank you
Thank you for your advice!
Would you optimising product descriptions? I spend my life trying to manage this with content teams & it proves difficult. Most of my time seems to be spent here with little time left for the rest.
Another thing I find hard to tackle is backlinks, obviously it all relies on content & as you said for an ecommerce site this is difficult. Outreach and purchased links aren't allowed, so I'm guessing writing content for our site, seeding it on social & hoping for backlinks is the only way?
Hi
I want to find out, what people feel the top 3 focuses should be for an SEO (I know there are hundreds)...Content/Backlinks/Social/Technical
I'm trying to better prioritise my work - I work on a large ecommerce site - with just me as the SEO & a development team in France
So most of the technical stuff is controlled there. I focus on audits, KWD research & briefing content how to better optimise products.
A lot of time is taken up by that as the site is so big & I'm concerned I am not putting enough effort into other areas.
What should these areas be?! Backlinks/Content/Blogs - I can't do everything but would like to prioritise tasks which will have the
biggest impact
Can anyone help ![]()
