Free Joomla SEO Extension?
I have Joomla and K2 installed on 5 sites. The best solution I've found, and it isn't free, is mijoSEF (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/sef/22026). Using K2 will require two of their extensions, which is a pain, but I've found it worth the investment. Their tutorials are well done and complete - something rare for extensions in my opinion. I'm not an expert and haven't used it's full functionality, but it's saved me, and my team, a lot of time with meta tags, 404's, and duplicate content. Best, Doug

Database Driven Websites: Crawling and Indexing Issues
So even though that page is not technically an actual page (HTML file) that sits on the server permanently, Google will index it as such?

Footer link to home page?
There is of course a difference between hiding text and being user friendly. If you read Google's policy on hidden text, you'll see there is no mention of this method. The link isn't downsized to 1px, nor is it impossible to see for humans. So I don't agree Erica, on this instance That would be totally different if we'd do this with more text than just one (brand name) word, reducing visibility, placing [Viagra-text] behind the logo/image that has nothing to do with viagra, etc

How long does it take for rank to return after 301?
Hi Robert - Yes we did it on the URL level, but the client is using IIS as opposed to Apache, so we had to figure out a way to use a global 301 that trickled down to the page level. Each page is redirecting to it's new home on the server side (www.oldsite-innerpage.com to www.newsite-innerpage.com). We actually ended up with a global re-write rule that still allowed it to be a page-level redirect. Eventually we will be going into IIS and writing in server-side 301's for each individual page. It's been 2 weeks so I'm hoping to see return of rank here in 2 weeks time or so. Thanks for your input.

301 Single Page Redirects in IIS7?
Ok, update to this question - there are several hundred pages to redirect when making this transition. File structures are exactly the same between old and new sites. My problem is that I cannot use .htaccess to put in the code to redirect each page to its new page all at once because my client is using IIS, not Apache. Is there ANY WAY at all to do the permanent 301 redirects in IIS outside of just going into the Web Services manager and manually putting in the new URL for each page? HELP!

Moving Blog to Custom Domain
I have a couple of friends who started on blogspot and when their blogs became successful moved them to a new domain. I think that they did the right thing because they will be running those blogs for years into the future. They moved all of their content but made very obvious annoucement on every page of the old blog about the move and made links to help visitors get there easily.
