Get Yoast SEO for Wordpress plugin. It solved all of my duplicate page issues.

The issue stems from the category/Tags/Authors links which all host the same article, however the URL differs depending on how you access sit (i.e. via clicking though on a tagged keyword, through the authors link or through the categories links).

Agreed Matt, that is scarey. though a years worth of work to deindex one competitor seems like a lot of hard work for little gain.

I'd rather spend the year doing something positive and not being a complete git.

After looking over the site in question, it may not be down to the negative SEO, theres an awful lot that could be improved on that site.

Has anyone noticed any ranking changes over the weekend?

I've noticed an almost uniform drop of a few positions across almost all of my chosen phrases. Nothing major has occurred on our site, no messages in webmaster tools. An analysis of our competitors positions (which we track the top 10) doesn't reveal any clues.

I would completely re-write the content, ensuring that the useful info included in the manufacturers content is included in the re-write.

On reflection, this is the kind of story that is going to gain some momentum in the business/marketing world and will probably generate a bucket load of nice authority links for the site...could this be a double bluff?

If I understand correctly, you want to change your menu structure, which in turn will change th subsequent pages?

If the menu changes are going to result in page names changing (im talking filename changes) then yes you may want to 301 redirect the old pages to relevant new ones.

301's are not complex, but can cause MAJOR issues if not done correctly. There are a number of plug ins for Wordpress that ma help manage the 301's check out

Also, you may want to read up on HTaccess and 301's, but I would not recommend tackling your HTaccess until you KNOW what you are doing.

Personally I see no benefit of having such a indepth HTML site map, its very unlikely that a user is going to scroll through hundreds of almost identical looking lines of products to find what they want. I think a huge sitemap as showin in your examples only serves to confuse people and make it difficult to find what they want (the opposite of what a sitemap is actually for!)

Listing the site structure down to category level/sub category levels is plenty.

Your kind of right, but DA/PA are only guestimates, they don't hold and actual bearing on rank as each niche can vary wildly.

I'd focus on my actual SERPs and number of visitors.

I agree with Kane, in addition to the description, why not produce a transcript of any spoken words in the videos? (not everyone has speakers plugged in).

A well organised natural site structure and navigation system will ensure that page rank 'flows' all the way down to product pages.

No need for including products on sitemap (though you can include them in your XML sitemap).

You need to put the Tweet this syle buttons on your website and get people to share the page amongst there pages. There are plenty of ways to encourage people to share th content, but by far the most effective is to have some awesome content...perhaps you have recorded a song or covered a popular song, you could offer it as a free download when people tweet the page?

Firstly let me state that my criticisms are purely my own opinion and may come across a little harsh, but they only hold the best intentions of advice and help for my fellow web professional brethren.

I agree with you on the homepage content, its extremely light. But you say you do not want to detract from the minimalist feel, I don't get that vibe from your site. Minimalist to me is lots of empty space, or white space. Your site starts with a series of images, which appear to be unrelated. Also in my screen some of the images are quite dark and difficult to make out (perhaps my gamma/brightness/contrast are off).

For me one of the most important tags on a page are heading tags, particularly when they are optimised well. Your homepage has no H1. It has a H2 but it carries the title for your contact box (not optimised for keywords).

Additional content on the homepage is a good idea, though on my sites the homepage is rarely where my visitors land.

I also agree with your ideas for your marketing page, splitting the content into separate pages will make it easier to optimise each page for a particular service related keyword, it will also make it easier for the visitor to find what they are looking for. Though I would think you'll need to expand on your content on each service (perhaps include a case study for each?). Again there appears to be a lack of H1 on your services page.

Your blog doesn't load correctly for me, I get half of the header and then the footer with no content inbetween so I struggle to comment on it.

One thing to note is that with JavaScript turned off your site has a few layout issues, particularly on the Marketing page.

Hi Tom, Im in the same boat, we have glorious feedback on both Ebay and Amazon and would love to show that on our website (without diverting people to our ebay or amazon stores).

Unfortunately ebay user agreement states  "you will not take any action that may undermine the feedback or ratings systems (such as displaying, importing or exporting feedback information off of the sites or using it for purposes unrelated to eBay).

Agreed with Matt, but surely social signals are going to be in play too. Encourage social sharing of your pages and the links, G+'s, Likes and tweets will follow, then the Page rank will flow.

Get comfortable as its going to be a long process though!

Don't get me wrong, some of the imagery is really nice (photography is a passion and a hobby of mine, so I do appreciate the sentiment).I see your train of thought and its an interesting concept.

With regards to landing pages, for me its a vital part of your SEO and should be a concern, a huge one! I spend the a huge amount of my time ensuring the right page gets the right visitor otherwise your bounce and conversion rates will suffer!

What is the reason for using an iframe to host the blog?
