Thanks for the mention. I just want to note that we at MyBlogGuest are undergoing a quality-control stage right now: We are trying to drag users FROM link dropping while connecting them to niche community-bloggers, so it's a good time to join!

To me, revenue sharing has been low-effective, so I don't think it will increase the value of incoming requests. Here's what I suggest:

• Make your requirements very strict (e.g. many people choose NOT to allow keyword-rich anchor text because that turns the "SEOs" who are only looking for a link off)
• If a person obviously doesn't read your guidelines prior to emailing you, simply ignore it (your time is valuable!)

Thus you'll see fewer low-quality requests and save your time as well

If you really want good content, pay cash money.

That's just looking in only one of many possible directions... One of guest posts placed on my site brought me a mention in NYTimes, another one brought me 10000 visits from SU (and still counting since then). Another one ranks top in Google = constant stream of free traffic.

I am advocate of guest blogging (the quality one) because it's what makes content social. It's like comments: I don't like blog posts that disable them because they take the social aspect of content marketing away.

Yes, paying for content is one of the ways to get it, but even paying for it you will get lotы of low-quality articles (especially you build up the base of reliable writers which takes time). It's also an investment many bloggers simply can't afford, so there's nothing groundbreaking in your advice, sorry, I do respect it...

Diane, to make the forums less cluttered and more focused we only allow one active thread per site at a time. Most blogs fall under one of our very generic categories. If you need to try more categories, squeeze all you can from your currently active thread, then close it and create a new one in a different category. This way we also ensure each user doesn't have too many threads he/she is not able to keep up with

This helps us keep the forum integrity and usefulness!

If you have overgrown My Blog Guest, I do recommend you try going straight to high-profile bloggers directly. MBG is good for a start as well as for scaling: you try your hand at guest blogging meeting people who are there exactly to receive guest articles. You can learn to meet other people's requirements, brainstorm interesting topics, etc. It's easier in terms of hearing back and getting your article placed.

The truth is, high-traffic blogs don't use platforms because they receive hundreds of guest post pitches weekly. They hardly need more. So if you want to go to the next level, use Marks' suggestions below and go to Google.

As a PRO MyBlogGuest user, you already have access to the link tracker (that's the update you are getting if any of your guest posts get removed or any of your links gets deleted), so since you are using MBG, MBG tracker would be extra

We are working on the quality issue and haven't noticed that many poor-quality articles. I personally track ALL rejections (I get an email each time the publisher rejects the article) and I don't recall seeing that many rejections either... Could you please report any time you receive a poor article?

About the blog quality, we have had lots of discussions in Private area about that and haven't still come to any good solution. Making another level of membership where only high-quality articles can go and only high-quality blogs can enter sounds like no problem to me. But I've heard some serious concerns about that being a closed network Google might once consider as breaking the rules. Right now our doors are open to everyone, and yes, it is much more natural this way

I can understand where your thinking is coming from because there are many "vote exchange" sites that have a lot of low quality and spammy submissions, where the focus seems to be on just spamming out low quality content. However since we moderate all submissions and will disallow users that repeatedly attempt to abuse the service, we can ensure a certain minimum level of quality.

I totally agree with your point about building an active audience and social circle. This is something I have been personally already doing for years and I encourage others to do that same. However another selling point of our service is that it generally will allow you to get your content shared from individuals that are mostly outside of your normal "social media circles" which is always a good thing.

I have a huge following and active community but I see VCB already driving my content more exposure! And it's only a few days old!

Bottom line: You can keep saying "Build your community" that is true but not really helpful. Or you can build free tools like ViralContentBuzz that actually help building that community.

I choose the latter!

Our main selling point is focusing on quality. We don't allow Twitter accounts that have fewer than 100 followers (to filter out new spammy accounts).

Also, all the submissions are manually moderated by us. And you can customize your dashboard to only read and share topics you like. This should guarantee you are only sharing relevant and high-quality stories!

We also have community-driven tools (like "Report" button, etc). There are sharing history and reports for you to track who shares what.

We are also working on more features like click reports for you to monitor the affect.

Plenty of features are still underway and I am sure, we'll come up with even more features if / when we come across spam issues. We'll be fighting for the quality of the resource, you can be sure of that!

I'd say we can only guess... There are so many variables here. Guest posts may go down the archive and thus the link value may be decreasing. Or possibly there are some flags - which would be not a smart idea though because I see dozens of blog who nofollow links with no intention (because of installing a new WP plugin. So honestly, I don't have the answer.

The best way I usually follow:

1. Create one masterpiece for your own site
2. Create a couple of more masterpieces based on the same research (you have already done to write the article on your site)
3. Link to your article and your blog from those external masterpieces (+get exposure)

It may sound like the article marketing, only it not one because it's in no way about spinning or rewriting. it's about re-focusing your research to write masterpieces.

I have given a few examples in my article on content re-focusing (we have also had a Twitter chat on that)

If you are able to find out the companies that picked articles, that would be ideal.

We don't track articles that are being posted through the forum (people just send articles manually there), but we do track articles that get posted through the Articles Gallery.

To find the list of most active publishers (those who published most articles), go Search -> Site Search -> and sort by "Articles Posted"

Like I said, you may want to use our built-in messaging options because we have enhanced it with free features like follow-up and non-response reminders.

You can use the free forum to post your request. There's a "Looking for blog" forum where you can start a new thread listing your topics. There is also "Looking for guest" forum where you can go from thread to thread applying to those opps that seem relevant to you.

Do I private message them or get their contact off their website? What do I say to not be ignored?

I'd suggest our system (PMs) because you can set up a follow-up reminder there. This way you'll be able to keep an eye on those who never got back.

Please watch all videos our users made for others to use the system. They are all user-generated and thus reflect the real user experience.

I have said it many times: it's not about guest blogging - it's how you are using it. So don't blame the tactic if you see someone abusing it.

The high-quality guest blogging will survive: because it's based on great content.

The low-quality guest blogging is not worth it, so it is probably being devalued right now.

Most of our sites have been accepting guest posts for ages. We have many members who grew together with us (they joined as very new sites and are now getting traffic, rankings and activity), so your observations are wrong.

None of our oldest and most established bloggers has been devalued so far, so I don't see any point in getting suspicious.

New sites are more active, true, just because they are new. So they might be easier to notice.

We are not doing anything wrong and saying "after MBG sites are all devalued" is also wrong. Let's talk about that if/when it ever happens. We have worked hard to be Google-friendly. We are doing our best to convince the members of non-link-building priorities. And most of our users do get that.

Absolutely. Don't just share them to be indexed (they will be indexed quite quickly anyway because blogs are usually caught up in no time) - share them to get more traffic and exposure. You want your guest post to be a powerful trust signal - and an actively discussed and shared article will give you a larger boost.
