      Hi,

Looks like Ann over at MyBlogGuest has released a very interesting side project called 'Viral Content Buzz' (www.viralcontentbuzz.com).

I have had a quick look and it seems to be something that could be very useful regarding social sharing of content.

Basically you can put your article into a category to gain exposure for it (this costs 'points'), once in the gallery others can tweet the link to the article to gain themselves points - and it goes round and round.

It does look like a good way of building up followers and exposure but in order to pick up points you need to tweet and you can not tweet until you have a certain number of followers (just so you know I like this).

The only thing I can think of negatively is how real are those lists? I guess the proof would be in the retweeting and visits to the article.

Anyone else looked at this service?

It's great if all you want are a few quick, illegitimate and useless (most people won't read the content) shares. However, if you want your content to be shared and read by real people, then work on building an active audience with good practices. It's definitely tough at the beginning, but it will pay off.

        Cheers,

        Marko

          Thanks for the reply,

How did you find using the system? Any positives you can pull out of it?

          Cheers

Ann is smart indeed and I always mentioned that she is one of the few people who actually help me get better at SEO and blogging.

Getting free traffic idea is terrific and easy if the community is helpful but if the community is hijacked by spammers and there is no moderator that same good website becomes the real pain in the head...

As I said, Ann is smart so she must have some keep check on it but i would love to hear from her about the maintenance of the highest quality.

I am with you on this Moosa,

Looks like it could be another great project from Ann.

But like you I just want to know a few things behind the scenes. if it does what I hope it can, which is basically generating tweets/retweets from real people and I do indeed see a uplift in my own following and brand exposure then she can put a price against it and I would be happy to hand over a monthly subscription fee.

                Wow! Thanks for sharing!

Our main selling point is focusing on quality. We don't allow Twitter accounts that have fewer than 100 followers (to filter out new spammy accounts).

Also, all the submissions are manually moderated by us. And you can customize your dashboard to only read and share topics you like. This should guarantee you are only sharing relevant and high-quality stories!

We also have community-driven tools (like "Report" button, etc). There are sharing history and reports for you to track who shares what.

We are also working on more features like click reports for you to monitor the affect.

Plenty of features are still underway and I am sure, we'll come up with even more features if / when we come across spam issues. We'll be fighting for the quality of the resource, you can be sure of that!

And thank you, Mozzers, for your continuous support of my projects! I love this place!

I have a huge following and active community but I see VCB already driving my content more exposure! And it's only a few days old!

Bottom line: You can keep saying "Build your community" that is true but not really helpful. Or you can build free tools like ViralContentBuzz that actually help building that community.

                  I choose the latter!

Gerald Weber, VCB co-founder, can't post here for some reason but here's his reply:

                    Marko,

I can understand where your thinking is coming from because there are many "vote exchange" sites that have a lot of low quality and spammy submissions, where the focus seems to be on just spamming out low quality content. However since we moderate all submissions and will disallow users that repeatedly attempt to abuse the service, we can ensure a certain minimum level of quality.

I totally agree with your point about building an active audience and social circle. This is something I have been personally already doing for years and I encourage others to do that same. However another selling point of our service is that it generally will allow you to get your content shared from individuals that are mostly outside of your normal "social media circles" which is always a good thing.

No worries Ann, I like to share resources I have faith in.

I have had a quick look/see at the service, and the insides look very interesting/promising.

It's defiantly worth a look either way, im just wondering now if VCB would work well with Followerwonk!
