I wouldn't change your brand to designquotes, stick with Design Quotes and build anchor text links for Design Quotes.

It was more of a impulse buy really, sore this term might get 30,000 searches a month the emd was free and like I said no comp really, so I was kinda hoping it would just jump through the results to page one, near enough straight away.

If you use:

inurl:.gov.au - it will only show results from .gov.au websites.

If you use:

inurl:.gov.au "Schools" - it will show results from .gov.au websites relevant to the search term Schools.

You can then use the above to track down the type of websites you want. Then you can install SEOMOZ tool bar (browser plugin) and turn on 'Show SERP Overlay'.

It will put a bar under each result with its stats, one is called DA which stands for 'Domain Authority'.

Broad match will show anything Google feels is relevant to your broad keyword.

You can use a + sign at the front of the words which must come up in the query, so for example if I had - +Cheap Red +Flowers.

Both words Cheap & Flowers must be in the query in any order so you could come up for - Cheap Flowers, Cheap Red Flowers, Cheap Flowers For Sale etc.

Once your campaign has been running for a few days, you can enter the search query report and view the keywords being generated off broad match keywords and either add them into the campaign or negative them out so they don't show again - This tab would be at keyword level then go -> keyword details -> all

Location wise, which location option have you selected in the settings of that campaign?

Leave the links to the seasonal categories in the footer, when it comes round to the season just reactivate it in the nav.

I do guest blogging to the best I can and what I usually do is:

Find a few of the best blogs in the niche of the client, I look at all elements - check out the social channel numbers, the amount of social sharing on the posts, number of comments, number of posts going up daily/weekly, length of posts etc.

I will then try and make a headline which fits in with the blog but hasn't been done to death.

I will then usually create a list type article (Top 5) because I feel the information is broken down better in this format and allows for skim reading if the user doesn't want to sit there and read 2000 words (I make sure every heading has an image as well).

The client goes in the byline.

That's just me, im not a pro blogger/writer I just try to produce something I would be very proud to put on my own blog.

I suppose the question really is, could that extra $60 be used somewhere else that would benefit the SEO more then hosting the sites on different IP's.

Personally I would go with one server and use the $60 on SEO, ive seen a video from Matt Cutts saying its fine to inter-link websites but make sure they are relevant to each other.

If its a directory you must have been collecting email address? Can you not use the email db to expose the new directory to these users?

As SEOMOZ ranks Authority through percentage, at what percentage does a domain become authoritative?

I'm looking for guest blogs/websites, which have a authoritative root domain to try and help increase our own auth and in turn rankings.

So far I have found a few guest blogs, which have around 40-50% but I kind of think I need to find ones which are more like 70-80% for this to really work.

If I did go the infographic route I would keep some money back for stumble upon ads and adwords to try and get the social signals going.

Well you would think, but a lot of industry pros talk about mixing it up with a range of low and high value links to make the link profile look as natural as possible, im sure someone on here will disagree with me and you.

To expand on this, you could also guest blog to generate relevant traffic, which could help start what Brett's talking about.

Swerve it doesn't look great, time could be spent better else where.

Display ads have a poor CTR, your better off creating a few articles and offering them up as guest posts.

What I like to do with MBG is list all the blogs available on MBG, then sort by number of posts, this way I know I got a good chance of getting a post on there if I contact them.

Then systematically copy the url into Google and use the MozBar to look at the domains data.

So for example I found one yestarday which had the following stats:

Domain Auth: 50, Page Auth: 69, Moz Rank: 5.2, MozTrust: 5.6 with 315 linking root domains.

I friended the blog owner, and I got an article scheduled for today with 2 links one in the body and one in the byline.

Looks like Ann over at MyBlogGuest has released a very interesting side project called 'Viral Content Buzz' (www.viralcontentbuzz.com).

I have had a quick look and it seems to be something that could be very useful regarding social sharing of content.

Basically you can put your article into a category to gain exposure for it (this costs 'points'), once in the gallery others can tweet the link to the article to gain themselves points - and it goes round and round.

It does look like a good way of building up followers and exposure but in order to pick up points you need to tweet and you can not tweet until you have a certain number of followers (just so you know I like this).

The only thing I can think of negatively is how real are those lists? I guess the proof would be in the retweeting and visits to the article.

Anyone else looked at this service?

Like I said before the service is a great idea and brings (some fun) to link building with added benefit of generating some relevant traffic if you hit the right blog.

See when I first signed up I was putting 2 links in the body, I was told this looks spammy so add 1 link in body and 1 link in byline.

I went back to the copy writer and told him this, so now he has produced 20-30 articles with one keyword in the body which I can link out with.

Most of these articles contain this keyword in the first few paragraphs, not because im greedy and want the link as high up the content as possible but because when your writing this level of articles in one niche you have to start writing top 5 / top 10 lists and its easiest to put the keyword in the first few intro paragraphs.

I will go back to the copy writer and ask him to do one paragraph at the bottom of each article and put the link in there.

So 1 link in bottom paragraph and 1 in byline, as long as the content is ok will this be sufficient?
