I believe what Rand meant was really just the country code. His example answer includes &gl=uk, which would get you results as if you were in the UK instead of in the US (if you were searching from the US).

Yep! Keri's spot on. This would be around using the query parameters to get results from Google in a different country (and Keri's right - &gl=cc where country code is the cc is the way to do it).
