Is Rank Tracker accurate?

Rank Tracker tells me my page is #3 on Google (US) for a keyword phrase

When I check Google.com myself, I see my page is #6

Am I missing something here?

Google personalizes your results, have you cleared your cookies and made sure its not personalizing your searches?

Rank tracker is updated weekly and it is generally accurate but as the results shift constantly it may sometimes be different to a 'live' check.  As an average figure however, especially when there's lots of keywords, it's still pretty useful.
