Google Analytics: Visits & Unique Visits

Hi Folks

I'm running into an odd issue where as demonstrated by the attached image.... Unique Visitors are reported higher than visitors. This article tries to explain a similar issue, but it's not a good fit to my problem.

I suspect if you try and help you will most likely have a few detailed questions so please do not hesitate to ask.

Actually, the screenshot I attached isn't helpful - because there are two separate Y-axes with different scales, which explains the discrepancy.

In the case of your screenshot, I'm at a loss. I'm wondering if something in your GA implementation has changed?

In speaking with Google this seems to be a bug ...

Interesting - I wonder how widespread this bug is.

Does it seem to be effecting your actual visits & unique visitors numbers, or just the charts?
