Any tips for getting access to the Adwords API?

I applied over two months ago, and my application is still marked as pending. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get access to the Adwords API?

And /. or are there any online tools (with access to Adwords API) that I can use to import large quantities of keyword data into excel?

Michelle - we were using the API quite a bit for SEO keyword research, but eventually had the account cancelled by Google - probably because we had a relatively minor Adwords spend in relation to our API usage.  In the meantime we ended up using the SEM Rush api.  It's pretty easy to use and they seem to have access to a pretty deep set of keyword data.

I tried out a few other APIs at the time.  Bings tool seemed to have potential, but it only returned very limited keyword data.  I think I looked at Wordtracker and another one, but they seemed to be quite expensive compared to other options, based on the pricing model they used.
