• Have you set OSE to the maximum amounts? Target >> this root domain, Link Source >> all pages, Link type >> all links? You might be missing some if you're checking only external, certain types of links, only the current page, etc. Cheers!

 • Yeah this is a typical case lately where Google is picking up whatever they like on your page and find the most relevant to stet that as the page title in the SERPs. Usually not much you can do about except for setting the
to something even more relevant to the search query.

 • So you want each page type to cluster together into a single wire frame for that group? Or you want a list of URLs in a table that you can add comments to? Maybe use http://www.wirify.com within a couple of those clusters. Cheers!

 • I have been experiencing this on my site as well. Just curious if you were still receiving this kind of traffic since it has been a few months? Recently there have been one or two times throughout the day where I see a huge spike in direct traffic. As you mentioned, the GA numbers seem to suffer but as long as this does not impact my rankings or site performance I'm not too worried. I too am concerned that this is more than just an annoyance and possibly reason for concern. I've had other sites show up on GA as sending tons of referral traffic and figured it was just spam, but not sure of the benefit to a spammer of sending ghost direct traffic unless it is some kind of negative SEO attack. Would love to find out.

 • I experienced a similar issue recently. Upon closer inspection I noticed there were duplicate canonical tags on the pages. Google actually ignores ALL if there are more than one. So I would certainly double check that.

 • Hi Rand, This is a fantastic upgrade. It was difficult to filter through key phrases that were popular without getting overwhelmed. This will help us polarize in on the stuff that counts. Thanks another great improvement to Moz. Great job Tom PS See you at SearchLove Boston!

 • Assuming this is your page -- https://plus.google.com/+ExchangeCapitalManagementIncAnnArbor/about -- about the only thing I could suggest is get some reviews. That would show more engagement than anything else. The Google+ page showed up when I searched for your company's name, but then I'm nowhere near Michigan.

 • Hey Brett! There are some nuances to this I want to be sure I'm understanding. How many physical locations do you have? Are you saying that you have 1 physical location from which you are serving all of those states, or do you have physical locations in each of the states? Are you meeting face-to-face with your customers in each of these states, either at your office or at their homes/businesses? Please, answer these 2 questions as fully as possible. Regarding instances in which Google does not show local results for a given query, this is based on their internal interpretation of what is most relevant. Google makes a decision about whether a searcher's intent is local or not, and also, they determine whether there is enough relevant local data to show on a given query. No one (but Google) knows all of the ins and outs of these decisions, but it's not something you can really influence. The important thing is to recognize whether Google is showing local or organic results for your core queries and then do everything you can to become dominant in those results, either via local or traditional marketing methods. Remember, too, that results are personalized - so you searching from Hawaii are not seeing the same results that your customer is searching from California I'll look forward to your replies on questions 1 & 2.

 • Thanks Brandan! I change the link as recommended to nofollow and anchor text to holidayshuahin.com But what do you think about the 308 links i send from Dreamestaethuahin.com menu to Holidayshuahin.com if HOLIDAYSHUAHIN somehow recieved a penelty than it might be best not to link at all from menu. Instead i could link from menu to a page on Dreamestatehuahin.com that will be the only page pointing out to Holidayshuahin.com

 • Hi Frank. Here are a couple posts on this: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2014/11/25/guide-to-using-call-tracking-for-local-search/, an update of: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2013/05/14/a-guide-to-call-tracking-and-local/. That should clarify it for you. There are pros and cons obviously, but that should give you the full scope.
