Will changing a URL negatively affect ranking?
i did this without a proper 301 redirect... it affected me badly.. pages where i rank the posts really dropped.. you'll need to do a proper 301 redirect... rankings would drop a little bit . but it would boost up late on . .

Google Search Console - Indexed Pages
Yes, I've seen the same thing. I've got a client with a small site of only 6 pages. The sitemaps report shows all 6 have been indexed. Then I look at the Index Status report and find 46 pages indexed. 46 pages indexed on a site with only 6 pages!! So this seems to confirm your comments Logan. The question I have is: how can I get a list of all the indexed pages?

Multi-Country Multi-Language content website
That's different, because arabic is not so globally known or spoken, and there's lot of people in UAE speaking only English, so it would make sense having an English version there.

Tool that generates ranking report for multiple markets
Hi Andrei What do you mean by markets? Different countries? Different states in the US? Keyword ranking tools normally used projects or campaigns to monitor a group of keywords. These keywords are normally unique in each project because they have unique location specific keywords (e.g. state or city) or different spelling (e.g. US, UK, AU English). If you'd like to monitor different rankings in different countries or states, then it's better to sign up for a keyword ranking service and create projects for each state or country. I've used SERPWoo and Authority Labs before and can recommend both, but there are lot of other service providers on the market.

Google.com showing as backlink provider in Webmaster Tools?
Ahh yes! I've found it now, forgot I could click on the links to get more info, thought it would just take me to the site. Turns out most of them are coming from Google Plus which kinda makes sense now. Thanks

Removing .html from URLs - impact of rankings?
Similarly to any link, not just 301: "The amount of PageRank that dissipates through a 301 is currently identical to the amount of PageRank that dissipates through a link." So 301s are just fine.

How do I give a proper back-link?
Hello, As long as the content is well written and the site is related to his site, a simple link to his homepage will be fine. You don't need to worry about anchor text or anything like that if the content uses specific keywords. Search engines will draw connections between the content and the link. It is best to have some internal linking on your posts and static pages, don't over do it. Also, mix up your internal links, point to specific category pages, or items. If this article is primarily focused on this other person's site, don't worry about internal linking. Duplicate content on the same site
This depends what your goal is, are you looking to rank both pages in search? If so, you will need to create unique content on both pages. However, if your goal is to promote one of the pages via other means, you can put a rel canonical tag in the header of the site, which will give content attribution back to the original page and will solve your duplicate content issues. Here's more information on the rel canonical tag: https://moz.com/learn/seo/canonicalization As another option, you could simply noindex one of the pages. Hope that helps.

Yelp Jumps Into Home Services - Will You Jump With Them?
Hey Brodie, Thanks for following up with further details. I think it's really weird that neither you nor I can find a total number of Google reviews. Had I not been unable to find it, I would have bet the house that this data existed in some sort of quarterly report or something, but if it does, I simply can't find it. Our conversation has made me curious as to what that total number is, now If you can find it, I'd love to see that data!

Best tools for an initial website health check?
Sounds like a good idea. I'm just trying to provide basic data on a potential clients' site - traffic, rankings, main errors and things that are working for them. Some tools actually do a pretty good job of this, but only seem to do this for the homepage, rather than the entire site. I guess I'll have to use multiple tools and hope the effort is worth it as it's a free service. Do you use SEO profiler?

Sponsored Blog Posts - Inbound links harm ranking?
Yeah i have though about it in more detail as well. I mean i understand that link farming is not the way to go. But there are allot of persons out there having there own blog. We also had allot of past customers wrote a blog post about there experience with us which we cant really control. They have putted a link into there post, so how would google know which post is paid for which not. Of course you would always need to work together with legit hight quality blogs to secure your interested and getting onto spamming blogs.
