Website Indexing Issues - Search Bots will only crawl Homepage of Website, Help!
Hi Will, It'd be impossible to find a solution to the problem without having the domain. If you want to message me the URL, I can take a quick look for ya. A lack of either of those files shouldn't create any crawl issues. Setting up those files won't fix your problem, but you should add them both anyway.

New Page Not ranking?
This. Unless there's unique information on /oak-beams/ about oak beams overall that isn't also on /reclaimed-oak-beams/ and/or /air-dried-oak-beams/, you're going to have a difficult time ranking the brand new page.

Capitalization of first letter of each word in meta description. Catches more attention, but may this lead to google ignoring the meta description then more frequently?
Yes, I would like to see some study data on CTR success/failure of Capital First Letter Of Every Word vs. not. Or legibility study for fast reading comprehension. I see this as more important for ad copy than meta data, since ad copy is much more limited in characters and visual real estate.

Mobile Friendly Penalty?
Hi Chris, I appreciate you giving me the feedback on my site issues. I've rectified a few, and will thoroughly go through my site to ensure it complies with the suggestions. What is the likelihood that once Google sees that the page is cleaner, will my site jump back up to the top? Does the PR3 still factor in SERP? Thanks!

Anybody have a SMX West 2016 Coupon Code?
Good advice, Eric! I'll be locking this thread to further responses, though, as this forum is meant to have marketing questions answered, and as an educational resource. It's really not the place to find coupon codes. Have a great day!

Paid Link/Doorway Disavow - disavowing the links between 2 sites in the same company.
I see. I guess the question is whether to nofollow them and disavow them both. They had a spammy footer linking everything together, got rid of the footer, and kept a few of the links except transferred them to the body content somewhere. Make sense?

GWMT / Search Analytics VS OpenSiteExplorer
I know it's not always the answer people want to here, but Matt's right - this is basically where we're at. OSE tends to focus on higher-authority links and quality over quantity. Unfortunately, while this works well for tracking the strengths in your link profile, it doesn't always do as well at tracking the weaknesses. We're very much interested in expanding the quantity as well, but it's a balancing act and, in the interest of full transparency, there are many engineering challenges. People have compared our index to Majestic and Ahrefs on the blogosphere. Since I can't claim to be unbiased, I'd welcome you to read those posts and make your own judgments. In fairness to Majestic and Ahrefs, all three of us are somewhat transparent about sources and at least our general methodologies. Unfortunately, Google is not very transparent about how they sample links or choose which data to show. So, direct comparison with any of the major SEO tools to Google Search Console proves to be a lot trickier. We're also not clear on Google's update cycle for that data.

CcTLDs vs folders
Hi Jacob, Use subfolders. Remember to use the hreflag tag, inclufing the country code. If you have the ccTLD domains, redirect them to the subfolder. For example: If you have yoursite.co.uk point it to yoursite.com/uk/ Also, remember to add every subfolder to Google Search Console (Google Web Masters Tools) and declare for each one the country that is itended to. Hope it helps. GR.

CSS background image links bad for seo?
We don't get a ton from image search and the images themselves aren't worth finding. The developers are coding like this for sitespeed reasons (I'd agree with it being "odd"). Thanks.
