Can anyone offer an example of a site or page that gets 100% or even close to that on Search Visibility?
100% Is virtually impossible, afaik, MOZ accounts for all of the domain's keywords and their CTR. To have 100% visibility, you'd have to rank on the 1st-3rd position for each keyword that you rank for, which is impossible. Even if you optimize your website just for 1 keyword and manage to get it to the 1st position, you'll still grab some keyword on the way and you'll have your own 'long tail', keywords, for which you rank beyond 20th position. Here's how keyword position distribution looks like for most websites: http://i.imgur.com/gozM9KE.png Note that most of the keywords are in the tail. And here's how the visibility changes if you account for all of the keywords: http://i.imgur.com/pTW6GPN.png

URL is .net... Backend is .com... XML map is .com... Help!
If it's multisite,"someone deciding to change the domain with Wordpress and only changing the site URL" isn't something you'd concern yourself with - I only mentioned it as there was a chance they'd split a regular Wordpress site (presumably) in error. If you're using multisite this isn't a concern. Using Multisite for a single site (as the name suggests) isn't common, so there was a smaller chance of it being multisite; I just wanted to cover all possibilities.

Will my site get devalued if I add the same company schema to all the pages of my website?
Thank you so much for responding. The CMS is a proprietary version from Cox Automotive. I have to choose between no schema and the same schema on every page. Not really what I wanted but I really appreciate your input, it's very helpful.

Brand listed as plumber, can we still rank for other markets?
Hi Remko, Let's work through this scenario together. Let's say that I operate a lead-gen directory for auto dealerships in Texas. Like any business owner, I want to rank well, and my livelihood depends on the traffic I get and the conversions the businesses in my directory receive. So, in violation of Google's guidelines, I list myself in Google My Business, knowing that I'm not supposed to. What can happen then? Any random Google user looking for an auto dealership and encountering my directory in the local pack can feel frustrated by the waste of his time in calling me or driving to my business only to discover I'm not an auto dealership. In his frustration, he can report me to Google for spam. And, he certainly doesn't trust my directory after this experience, seeing that I've misled him. An auto dealership owner in Texas who has been pitched about joining my lead gen directory may look at the local pack and decide that, in essence, I'm stealing a spot in the local pack results that he or any other legitimate dealership can't occupy because I've taken it. Angry about this, he can report me to Google for spam. And, at the same time, he will no longer consider my lead gen directory a place he would want to be listed, because it's not adhering to guidelines. He doesn't feel he can trust such my business. So, I've just lost a customer for life. The SEO team working for an auto dealership in Texas sees I'm violating Google's Guidelines, and can report me for spam. A Local SEO anywhere in the country sees what I'm doing while they're doing their job, and can report me to Google for spam. And, at any time, Google can realize I'm spamming on their own, either as a result of their algorithm detecting that my business doesn't meet their guidelines or because this is detected manually by Google staff. The risks to me of any of the above 5 scenarios are that: Google will take down my listing, so my efforts at rankings will have been in vain and any marketing spend I put into this will be wasted. I now have a black mark against my business in Google's eyes for violating their rules. This could prejudice them against my whole business, and who knows what that might do to my organic rankings? So, these would be the risks I'd be facing. And they are big ones. Most businesses would not want to deal with these risks. What Would Be A Better Way? So, I revisit my marketing plan**,** because I realize I can't afford to risk angering consumers and losing their trust in my brand, auto dealership owners who might become customers of mine, or Google upon which I'm dependent for traffic. I realize that it's not fair to take local pack spots away from legitimate car dealerships. And yet, I need to survive, so what is open to me? I have two options: organic rankings and PPC. So, I'm running a lead-gen directory. In order to be successful, I have to prove to auto dealership owners that I can rank highly in the organic results for their core terms, so that I'm getting leads I can send to them. I have to acquire the organic SEO skills that will enable me to live up to this claim, meaning I've got to learn what it takes to earn those high organic rankings. So, this is where I turn all of my attention: earning organic rankings that I can legitimately have a claim to and without risking my business. Where I can't manage to get organic rankings yet due to high competition, I am going to have to invest in PPC, just like any other business. Hopefully, I can chip away at this over time and move up in the SERPs as my directory becomes of higher value in Google's eyes, but until then, I may have to fill in the blanks with PPC. What I've outlined here would be considered ethical marketing for my business, and respects the idea that I want to stay in business for the long haul. Unlike spam practices which mean the hammer can fall on all my work at any time, the practices my hypothetical directory has determined to take have the goal of building a brand that can be trusted by consumers, customers and Google for years to come. To me, there is no question that this is a much stronger approach to marketing.

Google Update
Hi Marie, Thanks for taking the time to write up such a lengthy reply. I completely understand that a trained SEO eye is what is needed, which is why I set about training myself, and in the past 4 months have learnt and conducted more beneficial SEO on my site than in its 7 year history. Moz is a great tool for tracking, after conducting my own SEO changes my ranking keywords doubled, and even with this latest drop, are still higher than they have ever been. My weakness is link building, as opposed to onsite SEO. This is my next area of focus, but without being able to identify what Google has changed it makes it incredibly difficult to make the correct changes. I suppose I can do nothing else but keep searching for my definitive answers and employing them. Thanks again!

Moz rank tracker API
Hi there, Sam from Moz's Help Team here! Unfortunately we don't have a keyword API or resources available to assist with building your own rank tracking tool. We do not own that data - it's imported by requests from customers within campaigns. Rank tracker queries the search engines directly. I hope this helps to explain. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Need to get SERP rankings for keywords not in top 50
Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. Unfortunately, our tools only track the first 50 places of SERP results - beyond that, our tools don't track where your site is ranking. That's partially because results beyond the 5th page of results typically fluctuate a good deal, and so it would be really difficult to show your rankings accurately with any confidence. I'm afraid there's no way to use our tools to find out where your site is ranking beyond the first 50 results. Sorry about that! If you still have questions or need a bit of extra help, feel free to write in to us at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to sort you out!

Woocommerce URL Structure Issue
The product page is both its own page, with its own ranking, and an internal link on the category page. If you go to yoursite.com/product/acura-integra-cv-axle-shaft-90-01-honda-civic/ you should get a page all about that particular product. Google should recognize this as a unique page, as it has a unique url. On the category page yoursite.com/auto/drivetrain/cv-axle-shaft-assembly/, all the products of this category will show, each with their own internal links to their own unique product pages. I suggest trying to rank the category page for broader terms related to the category (the type of product) and the product pages more specifically (e.g. include car make/model, etc)

Google Local Changes Randomly & Our Site Keeps Dropping Off Search
Thank you so much! I've actually gotten permission to talk about the school's themselves for the sake of trying to get some support on this, since this is such a tricky problem. To answer your questions: 2. So the URL for Penn State Law (pennstatelaw.psu.edu) is not showing up when you type in "penn state law". Only the subdomain that is advertising for both schools at law.psu.edu shows up and the school is listed underneath it, but its own domain name is not appearing. For our other school, the 'Dickinson law school', when their name is typed in their website at dickinsonlaw.psu.edu shows up and then the law.psu.edu site shows up. So everything is working perfectly, and as expected for that school. 3. Years ago, the subdomain law.psu.edu was active for the dickinson schools of law, until the split. Now law.psu.edu is advertising for both schools, and has a series of pages on it that talks about the 2 different choices, AND each school has their own site: pennstatelaw.psu.edu, and dickinsonlaw.psu.edu. The URL that speaks about both schools was set up years ago I think in order to help keep rankings high and start to drive value to the 2 schools websites, and the plan was for that to go down in rankings as the 2 new websites started to build their way up - but it looks like the law site has really held its own at the top of search results for a lot of keywords for the new school. (Probably because the school name is so broad and a keyword in itself) 4. These schools are completely different which is why this is such a huge problem. They have different accreditations and the education is slightly different between the 2 so they share the same website at that one subdomain but the addresses, phone numbers and everything else is different. 5. I've been going through the Moz Local a lot and haven't found any major inconsistencies. The right school is popping up with the correct phone number. I might still look into this to get it exactly the same across the web, but both of the school's listings are popping up with correct addresses & phone numbers. 6. So it is not being listed as a department of the university, but its own school and academic college that you can attend. Technically everything is under the university, but that is not how it is being listed or advertised. Thank you so much for your response and any other help you can provide. I really have been thinking that the law site providing info on both schools is causing a lot of the problem but I know its a risk to start messing around with that if I don't know what to expect. Hope this can help other universities with similar problems too! Thanks again!

URL structure - which one is better?
Hi, I would go with the structure without the subdomains. Usually there is barely any good way of using subdomains as it will prevent you from using the domain authority from the root domain. The new folders will make sure that you can still use the HREF language tags but will also benefit from having the domain authority instead of basically having to start all over again. Martijn.
