  • Have you tried MozBar? Adding this (free) browser extension from Moz, then heading to Google.com to perform a search query may be all you need if I'm not mistaken. After downloading and enabling MozBar, head to google.com, search for your keyword and change your Search Profile to target a specific search engine, country, region, and even city. Additionally, I highly recommend Keyword Explorer from Moz for much more in-depth keyword research. Best of luck! Zack

  • Jay, This is pretty common, and as long as you follow international SEO best-practices, you'll be alright. Here's a couple resources that include everything you'll need to do this properly: Moz's Guide to International SEO Hreflang Tag Guide The hreflang tag is basically a canonical tag that lets search engines know you have other versions of this content out there meant for different countries and/or languages.

  • It's best practice to include +/-100 word Category Descriptions above your product listings. Adding a useful and robust "buyers guide" below the products is also extremely helpful. I'd be less concerned about "duplicate content" warnings from crawlers if your pages are ranking well. We get plenty of warnings from DeepCrawl for pages that are ranking in the top 3 for highly competitive terms.

  • Most of these links might help in technical SEO but not something users might be visiting. And I think this way, before link reanimation, we lost many links. Does this hurt?

  • Hi Zack, Thanks for answering my question. I don't wank to link any pages. For example: Page is about MS Excel training and At the bottom of page I would like to add: Related searches - MS excel tutorial, Microsoft excel guide, best way to learn excel online, How to learn excel online. So in this case, it will be treated as keyword stuffing or will be considered as topic query exploration (For search engines and visitors)to drive more relevant traffic toward webpage. Thanks James

  • I'm glad those resources helped! There are lots of things you can do. You can frequent forums or Facebook groups to see what your target audience are talking about. Start discussions on Twitter or other social platforms. You could also put some content live and see if it resonates. I would recommend starting with this Whiteboard Friday on knowing your audience https://moz.com/blog/know-what-your-audience-wants-before-creating-content-whiteboard-friday And this one on more data driven audience analysis https://moz.com/blog/discovering-which-sites-your-target-audience-visits-whiteboard-friday Let me know how you get on Cheers! • The client sells school uniforms. I have now discovered he has created a number of 'hub' pages which simply contain lists of school names for each region, where each of the school names link to a page of fairly banal blurb about each school. Given that he does not sell uniforms for most of these schools, it looks like classic keyword stuffing. This being the case, surely it wouldn't be wise to preserve this type of content, even though this strategy has gotten him some pretty good rankings?

  • Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here.   I think I can help explain why you're not seeing all the backlinks you'd expect to your site. Open Site Explorer and the Link Analysis page of campaigns are both tied to our Mozscape index, which tends to update roughly once a month. Just a few points on how we compile our index: We grab the most recent index. We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains). We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled ~130 billion URLs The idea here is that we're focusing on the highest-quality links we can find, coming from the most prominent pages of authoritative sites. So, while you may not see every link for a site within our index, we're aiming to report the most valuable ones available! Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Mozscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for many reasons - including the crawl-ability of sites, the number of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories. This also slightly biases our index in favor of newer links. Linking data is only cached in the index for around 180 days. After that, unless the crawler is given a compelling reason to return to those sites, re-crawl and re-index them, those links can drop back out of our index. That doesn't mean they're not still there, and you may still see them using other tools, but it just means that they're not included in our Mozscape Index any longer. You can see our most recently updated schedule here as well as some more technical metrics on our Mozscape API Updates page. You can also see when the last and next updates happened on the Open Site Explorer (OSE) homepage at any time. Since Moz focuses on quality of links over quantity, we are always focused on the most relevant links to display to our users. It's possible that Moz's index will leave out some of the lower-quality (non-link juice providing) links out of our index because of this. So, that might explain why you may see some discrepancies with what other tools may be showing. I know this is a ton of information, so if you have any questions or if I didn't make anything clear enough, please don't hesitate to ask! Feel free to drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll answer all your questions for ya.

  • Thanks James! Yes, my question was more about what have others done that's worked / what do others know about Quora that might help in this situation. The problem is that people are looking at the featured snippet link (not even necessarily clicking through to the results). The date doesn't appear anywhere in the featured snippet, so it looks current. If they still call us, the conversation can start out with our sales team on defense re: price, which I'd prefer to help them avoid. Other input welcome!
