Is it really worth it to submit to Yahoo Directory for $300 per year?
-
The fee does not even guarantee inclusion - and if you are accepted, does that link really add enough value to justify paying an annual $300 fee?

Thank you both for your input; I had suspected it might not be worth the annual cost to (maybe) get a link in the directory.

I agree it is totally not worth it. Unless you have money to throw around, in which case pass some my way

As already said, many of the deep category levels pass little to no juice to your site (there ws a blog post on this fairly recently).
I would save your money and spend the time working on getting just a handful of top quality links from good sites related to your niche.

My 2c - it depends on the category. Some are indexed - and don't be put off by the annual fee. Everyone I know has bought this once, then never renewed and the links remain. So this is effectively (so far) a lifetime buy.
BOTW is a similar but (slightly) better directory IMO - but officially a lifetime purchase.

All that, yet I have still secured Yahoo listing for our site. How's that? I'm not saying I had money to throw around but it's basically a significant directory to be in - even outside SEO value. My vote still goes towards yes if the site is important to you and you are not willing to cut corners.
