Is Google Filling in Search Forms?

Hi Mozers,

Is it true that Google will fill in search forms and thus generate potentially thousands of pages by itself?

We have a spike in number of pages indexed and it corresponds with the time we added an advanced search form to the site...

Hi,

They cannot, but a competitor can. That's why most of the times you want to make sure that search pages are excluded from a search engines crawlers to avoid issues like this.
