Can you have too many Schema.org references
-
Recently our webdeveloper has corrected the Schema.org code on our website. It's a Magento website with the SEO Suite plugin. When I check a page in the structured data tool however I see a lot of referenses. For example: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?url=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.megagadgets.nl%252Flion-s-head-magnetic-towel-holder.html has 22 refecerences. The Homepage has 19: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?url=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.megagadgets.nl%252F.
When I check a competitors webpage they have only 5 references: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool?url=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.consoleshop.nl%252Fproduct%252F604438%252Fsony-playstation-4-500-gb-2e-controller.html.
My question is do we have too many references and should we fix this or is our Schema.org better than the competition? And if we have too many references, which ones should we delete?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi there.
Here is a video from Matt Cutts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePG5YYHU5Jo
And he says "the more schema there is the better". And it does make sense. Schema is kinda like legend or hints on a map, which helps google to understand" what's what and where to go"
So, the more help they have the better. However, do make sure that all markup is legitimate, makes sense and not used in spammy way.
Cheers
